Fiesta may not be one of the prettiest females in the pen but she will be a cow that will possess strong maternal abilities. Her mother is a large framed, deep barreled cow we bought from Wolfes at the Transcon Equation sale a few years ago. Her milking abilities are impeccable while still maintaining a tidy udder. She has shown calving ease abilities and is always picture perfect when touring the herd. I believe Fiesta will have the ability to pump power and depth into her calves and wean off bulls that will push the scale down come sale day. The mating to Starwest Eagle Eye will be the perfect combination as Eagle Eye’s cow family is arguably one of the strongest in the herd.
The first word that comes to mind when explaining Firefox is broody. Her dam we purchased as the high selling female from Lonestone’s sale a few years ago. The only word to describe that cow is colossal. Her frame size, milking capabilities, feet structure, and hip make her the most desirable type of cow. She has the ability to calve out calves with ease and wean them off in the top 5% of the pen every year. Both Firefox and her sister were the two largest heifers at weaning. We also retained Firefox’s full sister in the herd and she is shaping up to be quite the nice young cow with potential. Another cow family that has nice udder structure and strong feet. A homo polled test is pending and the mating to Loaded Gun with also offer the opportunity for a homo polled calf.
