A calving ease bull that I think could work on bigger heifers and young cows. Hiro has the possibility of being homo polled (waiting on results) and darn near solid coloured for a full fleck. His dam is a very exciting young Envoy female with a beautiful tightly tucked udder. When it comes to Holt, I must give this calf a lot of credit for being able to make the bull pen after going most the summer without his mother. When we moved the bull calf pairs to their own pasture closer to the house mid-summer, as much as we are embarrassed to say, we hauled his mother to the wrong pasture. Well after a week went by and we realized what we had done, the pair was weaned. Holt never missed a beat and exceled through summer, but I can’t imagine what he would have weaned at with the help of his mother. 43H is clearly an easy keeper and a good hardy calf!

Heifer pen friendly!! Heston is our calving ease pick for 2021. The Ferrous x Duke cross i think works in his favour for a double shot of calving ease. 65H is as smooth as they come, from the tip of his possibly Homo polled head back! His dam is a very fine made feminine female that controls birth weight well. I see Heston working much like his sire and giving dark red heavy pigmented small birth weight calves that jump up vigorously at birth and go!!!

The dam of 48H might actually be one of my favourite 2nd calvers we have to calve out in 2021. A beautiful polled Duke daughter that is just so feminine in her design in her front 1/3 but is just exploding with power and thickness from her shoulders back. I think Herald would work wonderful on a group of younger 2nd calvers, calving ease with enough power and punch to really incorporate some maternal highlights.
