Just when you think that a year couldn’t get any crazier than 2020, here comes 2021! As I have sat here and reflected back on the year and thought about it, I have come to the conclusion that the keyword for 2021 is PRAISE. Like in past welcome letters I like sharing about my faith and this year we will look at Psalm 63 and then I will include a few paragraphs from Dr. David Jeremiah’s book “When Your World Falls Apart”. Let’s get started with Psalm 63 verses 1-11 which say the following, 1 O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. 6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. 8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. 9 They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth. 10 They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals. 11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God’s name will praise him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced. What is so cool about this chapter in Psalms is this is David’s real life that we are reading about and it is some of the toughest times for him after he has been anointed King of Israel, but yet he praises God in these tough times! How does he praise him in these tough times you ask? He does it by his lips, hands, memories, and intellects. In one of David’s darkest hours, he Praises God with his limbs all the way to his mind. What incredible faith David has (because I know that is not the first thing I do when things are tough)! This is what David Jeremiah writes about this time in David’s life and how he relates it back to our lives personally. “David praised God. We find ourselves in deserts or dungeons. Our friends would give us all kinds of advice, but the last thing they might counsel us to do would be to praise God. When Job lay suffering with every earthly pleasure striped away, his wife advised him to “curse God and die.” But such an attitude is in itself a form of death. It’s spiritual suicide. Genuine praise, offered stubbornly in the face of adversity, makes no sense by any worldly calculation, That’s fine. There are deeper truths that don’t “make sense” on the surface of things. The great Christian mathematician Blaise Pascal once said that “the heart has its reasons which the reason does not know.” God’s rules fly in the face of our logic. When we begin to praise God, not in response to prosperity, but in defiance of misfortune, we align ourselves with the deepest truths of the universe, the place where God dispenses deep wisdom and spiritual maturity. We unleash His victorious power in the world of pain and suffering. We create the environment where miracles occur. And the first miracle occurs inside the mind of the afflicted. Learn to praise God regardless of your personal circumstances, and you’ll see miracles occur. Your heart and mind will be renewed. Your perspective will widen panoramically. The years have flown by and as I have looked back on the previous sales from the 1st to the 11th it is unbelievable on the strides our cattle have made! One thing that has stayed consistent and constant is that our bull customers and friends are still the best in the business, hands down! If you are in need of a bull, or just want to show up and enjoy dinner in a positive, friendly environment, and talk with other ranchers, farmers, and business owners about the previous year please do so. One thing I can guarantee is the coffee will be hot and the food will be outstanding (thanks to my wonderful in-law’s and their staff at Kyle’s Katering)! With RMVR being in the process of transitioning to an all-embryo bull sale by 2023, (which means all Age Advantage bulls and yearling bulls, will be an embryo calf or the natural calf out of one of our donors by 2023). We are ecstatic about this transition and believe that it will benefit each and every one of our loyal customers. With us making this transition it creates unprecedented uniformity throughout our customer’s calf crops by them having an opportunity to buy in volume full brothers, not just half-brothers! This year will mark the sixth year we will be offering Age Advantage bulls and we are extremely happy with how the process is going and will continue to offer them each and every year going forward. Don’t worry if you prefer yearling bulls, we will have you covered there also.

Calving time is an incredible time at the ranch each and every year! We get to see the potential of our new calf crop for next year’s bull and female sales, along with God bringing new life onto this earth! We have had some very interesting and exciting conversations with our kids as they have grown up during this time of the year as well! Trust me my kids know where babies come from!! We have taken great time and efforts in choosing our herd sire selections (along with our trusted sales staff helping us with this process), so we can thus produce the most optimal cattle possible for you the customer in volume. We have really concentrated our efforts on developing our bull program with you, our buyers, in mind. We strive for consistency throughout our bull pen. We are also firm believer’s that if we can’t use them on our commercial cows, we don’t sell them. Whether we sell 15 bulls or 150 bulls it doesn’t matter to us, QUALITY is king! Selection of the bulls is rigorous, with no exceptions, or excuses made for any bull! My Dad jokes about it often that if he sees the JD Gator in the bull pen driving around that we will be sorting off bulls and banding later in the day, and I have to say that he is fairly accurate with this observation!
