USA All The Way As much of a good story it will make it that these unsung heroes who would never get a chance to make the Olympic roster otherwise, everyone is disappointed that the NHL is not letting the players participate this year. Team USA had the potential to have one of their best teams ever and would rival the 2002 roster which was highlighted Brian Leetch, Chris Chelios, Mike Modano and Brett Hull. There is a good combination on young up and coming superstars and high caliber veterans who will be out of their prime in four years. I based my roster mostly on speed and skill which has proven to be killer in today’s NHL.
Line Position Line 1
Two of the most dynamic players centered by one of the most lethal shots in the game right now. Hard to argue with that.
Speed kills. Eichel is one of the best possession players out there and has played with Larkin in the past, Phil is one of the most deceptive players out there.
One on the most consistent goal scores the past couple years can play with two guys having career years
Line 4 Extras
Jason Zucker Brock Boeser
Grind it out boys
D Position D1
Suter is a minute muncher and Carlson is having a career year
Top pair in Columbus have chemistry and two-way play
Big Buff can replicate Chara next to McAvoy
Goalies G1 Jonathan Quick G2 Connor Hellebuyck G3 Ben Bishop
This roster may not have the star stud talent like Canada but they are a complete top to bottom team. Never the less, the NHL will be missing a great opportunity to grow their brand in a foreign market. Even with local hero Brian Gionta trying to make a case for himself to potentially sign with a playoff team at the end of the Olympic Games it will be hard to watch seeing the potential for one of the greatest team USA rosters ever.
