CARLOS SAINZ

The Catalan driver was Spain’s motorsport megastar long before Fernando Alonso. He won his first World Rally Championship driving for Toyota in 1990, and grabbed a second in 1992 as part of a racing career that spans almost 20 years. Hugely popular with the Japanese manufacturer after winning their first world rally, Toyota rewarded him with a road-going Celica GT-Four, which he still uses to this day.

Check out his answers in our next issue.

Six months and counting; I can feel my level of excitement reaching illegal echelons already. The list of exhibitors I have scribbled on my notepad is expanding so rapidly I may have to actually start a spreadsheet (*shudder*). With Harbour Cars and Auto Delta already confirmed as

well as the Porsche Club GB, who are bringing over 20 Porsches documenting the 911’s evolution, there will be a delightful cocktail of exotic German and Italian models… cars, not women! Nice as those may be, I have my eyes on Blitzworld’s ‘Road-going beach buggy’. No modcons, there isn’t even a boot! No room for all that shopping... Anyway must dash: so many cars, so little time!
