does working out induce headaches We all realize that if we would like to lose weight we must get exercise on a regular basis. No matter what any individual tells you, you cannot merely lose weight by sitting around and watching television. What most people fail to realize however is that exercising can definitely be a pain. You're probably already prepared for such things as muscle aches and backaches and joint pain but are you geared up for the exercise induced headache? Sadly, lots of people suffer from exercise activated headaches these days but the good news is that you can treat them and prevent them. Here is the way to accomplish that. Drink a lot of water--you probably already understand that this is important to do regularly but it starts to get even more important when you exercise. Headaches are generally a result of being dehydrated and dehydration really can appear after a workout, particularly if you work up a good sweat (sweat drains the body's water). Drinking a healthy volume of water just before, during and after your workout will do a lot to help you keep the headache from setting in after you work out. It is often all you need to do to take care of just about any headaches that turn up post workout as well. Proper warm ups along with cool downs are extremely necessary. Jumping straight into a exercise session can be quite a real shock to your system--blood rushes to all of the sites that you are working out and takes it out of your brain which often causes a headache to happen. When you complete a thorough warm up, your body will be able to steadily improve the blood flow to the areas that need it and then redistribute it back during your cool down which gives the brain time to adapt to the flow changes. Breathe correctly during your heavy exercising and weight lifting. The brain demands regular oxygen to be able to operate correctly and to survive. Most of us instinctively hold our breath whenever we are executing something difficult but that just reduces the oxygen that is available for your brain. Practicing correct breathing techniques enables you to keep a constant flow of oxygen to your brain and keep the headaches at bay. If you realize that the headaches are going on on a regular basis and the things that you have been trying aren't helping you prevent them, you need to talk to your doctor. If your workouts or diet are triggering your regular headaches then your physician will be able to help you figure this out. It is possible that you require medication to keep the headaches away. Your physician should be able to make it easier to figure out how to both stop your headaches and continue working out and your diet. None of us hopes to experience a headache; we do almost everything we can to keep them away. The nice thing is that there's no reason to just suffer through them.
