The next page that pops up should display the image of your advertisement (I put in a sample image). Don’t change any of the options on this page. Just click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page. For the next two pages, just click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

You can click on the inventory tab and repeat steps 1-7 for each ad that you want to create. REMEMBER: When you link an advertiser to a zone, the ad has to be the exact size of the zone you are linking it to. If it is one pixel off, the ad will not show up.

Creating ads that show up on a blank white page when you click on another ad, will require using an FTP program. Since most of the newspapers are using some version of Fetch to FTP other materials in, I will use that program. g Open Fetch and go to File and click new connection. g When the screen comes up, fill it in with the following information: HOSTNAME: av.bninews.com USERNAME: newspaper name CONNECT USING: SFTP PASSWORD: media4newspapername g My suggestion is to click on the heart and add this as a shortcut to quickly get back to this location (A). g

Click the blue downward pointing arrow to bring up more options to fill in (B). g In the initial folder section, type a forward slash (C). g Click the connect button (D). g Double click on your newspaper. g Double click on the AV folder. g Double click on the Ads folder. g Click on new folder and type in a name that is one word, all lower case (E). g Drag and drop your jpg image of the larger ad into this folder. (72 DPI) g IMPORTANT: This will give you the web address to put into the destination URL for the smaller ad. The format is: http://av.bninews.com/YOURNAME/ads/ foldername/filename g
