Welcome to the 2026 edition of the Gelbvieh Advantage Bull Sale. We have added in some new herdsires this year that we are beyond excited about, as well as one of our tried and true herdsires that we have used over the years. We finally have some bulls on offer from the high selling, BNC National K2129 bull, that we brought up from Hojer Ranch in the USA, they are ones that you dont want to miss out on, they are flat out good! We also have our first offering from the Res National Champion bull, BNH Dream Katcher 1K. This guy combines calving ease with growth, offering the best of both worlds. And then we have the calving ease deluxe bull, BNH Hot Commodity 27H, a bull that has been our go to, sleep easy bull for years and he never lets us down. Something for every program!
We have always focused our herd on creating that ideal momma cow and the bull calves are a product of these breedings. These bulls are ones that you want to keep replacement females out of. They are easy fleshing and productive. Each and every year we keep a small pen of bulls that we feel represent our program and we would want to use in our cow herd. These bulls are grown out all year long on a 30 acre pasture and will continue to walk these pastures until they leave our farm. They spend their days out walking and growing out as we feel that they should. This gives us that first year to put them to the test and see if they make the cut, to be sold as a coming two year olds. We have taken that much more guess work out of your bull purchasing and are able to provide our customers with an older, more developed bull that can cover more females.
All bulls sell semen checked, vet inspected, vaccinated, given fusoguard for hoofrot, parentage DNA’d and come with genomically enhanced EPD’s. These bulls are ready to get out and work the minute that they step foot off of the trailer. All bulls will be available for viewing on the farm. However, if you are unable to make it to the farm prior to the sale, we are always willing to discuss potential options or send more information on any of the lots in the sale. We aim to provide our customers with a herdsire that they are excited about and that will work in their program! HOMO POLLED Mic Drop is one of the soggiest, deep ribbed bulls that we have ever produced. He is sired by BNC National K2129, the high selling bull from Hojer Ranch of South Dakota. National has been a breed changer, producing offspring that are phenotypically correct, soft in their makeup and can pound down the scales at weaning. Mic Drop has been a true reflection of his sire and a stand out since birth. He is out of a moderate framed, beautifully made second calver that is quickly rising to the top of the herd, with her perfect udder and easy fleshing ability, that the JRI Secretariat 285E78 daughters are known for. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING:
1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS Farm Gate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your username and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In Most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.

FAQ:
WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
Terms & Conditions
Shipping/Delivery/Pickup:
Consignors will assist in coordination of delivery and will get bulls to central points within a 300km radius of origin. Consignors will feed and manage bulls until April 1/2026, anything beyond this date must be arranged at time of sale. All bulls remaining at the farm require insurance.
US purchases : Consignors will provide necessary health papers. Buyer will be in charge of trucking arrangements and costs.
Sale Animal Preview:
Open House Feb 25-Feb 28. Viewing available at Brittain Farms, Falun, AB (West of hwy 2 on hwy 13. Then 1/4 mile west of rge rd 275. South side of highway) or BNH Livestock, Red Deer County, AB. (Approx 15km east of Innisfail on hwy 590. North a mile and a half on range road 270)
Breeder Guarantee:
Respective breeders guarantee our bulls to be sound, fertile and reproductive for the first breeding season. Claims must be made by Sept 1st of the year of purchase and must be fully substantiated by a physical examination performed by a licensed veterinarian. If a problem occurs, please contact individual breeders immediately and we provide a suitable reeplacement, if available, or a sale credit. This guarantee does not cover death, injury or mismanagement. Our goal is to have you satisfied with your Gelbvieh Advantage bull.
