FROM THE SATSANGS OF SAIBANISA JI Cycle of Karma Do not link your service to any fruit from God. Link them to your own actions. Every action has its corresponding result after some time. Karmic reactions include not only things that happen to us, but also such things as our health, wealth, intelligence, physical appearance, and social status, as well as our personalities and inclinations. While we have some freedom to choose our current acts, our choices are influenced by our natures, or personalities, which have developed from our previous actions. For example, good choices tend to make us good persons who make further good choices. Sometimes the coincidence of some actions and some other fruits mislead us and we end up misunderstanding the intricate system. Except Shri Sai nobody can analyze this network system. A deep analysis of all the parameters is impossible for the human brain. Therefore, never criticize the administration of God and doubt Him. Karma is action and the consequence of action. Like a wave, its motion is inseparable from its substance. We live many lives and learn as a result of our experience. The process takes place on a deep level over many lifetimes. Karma is an instrument of this learning process. The importance of karma is consistently prioritized by the incarnations of God choosing to be one of us, and so that we might become communities of compassion, mercy, courage, justice, and care. This is applicable to all the forms of God that take the avatar of normal human form and lead a regular life like one of us. So these events of Avatars in this world is to emphasize that the constitution of God running the divine cycle of deeds will take care of everything in the world. On this event of New Year, let us truly follow the teachings of Shri Sai and consistently accumulate the good values of karma and strive towards excellence.

SAI’S NEWS FROM TIME MACHINE The Masjid in Shirdi was called as Dwarakamai, "the many gated mother" . Another definition of Dwaraka in the Skanda Purana, is that it is a place where it is open to all four castes ( brahmans, ksatriyas, vaisyas, and sudras) so as to realize the aim of human existence. The Dwarakamai attracted more and more devotees from nearby villages asking for a blessing of material kind. It was a regret of Baba that very few devotees come to Him for spiritual upliftment. He says in (Satcharita) Chapter 32, "My treasury is full, it is overflowing". I say," Dig out and take away this wealth in cartloads, the blessed son of a true mother should fill themselves with this wealth. The skill of my Fakir, the leela of my Bhagwan, the aptitude of my wealth is quite unique. What about me ? Body (Earth) will mix with Earth, breath with air. This time won't come again".

NAVAVIDHA BHAKTI Trust in me and your prayers shall be answered -- Shirdi Sai Baba

(Source: Sai Leela Magazine July-Aug 2004)

Eighth Step – Sakhya Bhakti Radhakrishnamai Baba asked daily for vermicelli made by Lakshmi in the afternoons, and would eat with her sitting beside Him. Baba ate very little and sent what remained, with Lakshmi to Radhakrishna Mai, who savored the leftovers with great love. Actually, the ladder was put against Waman Gondkar’s house and Sree Sai climbed up the ladder to the roof, Himself, very swiftly. The houses were adjoining and He crossed over quickly to Radhakrishna Mai’s roof. Nobody could understand the mystery. At that time, Radhakrishna Mai was suffering from severe malaria and she was very restless. Will be continued…

There is nothing wrong in knowing where others have gone wrong; it would be wiser in not committing the same mistakes.



To lead a peaceful life one must know the associated aspects, good and bad. Sustain the good ones while discarding bad aspects.

Good and bad are the two sides of the same coin, should be viewed in the right perspective.

DEVOTEES CORNER DEVOTEES EXPERIENCE It was the first time in June 2009 when I went to Shirdi. Ahhh... such wonderful darshan I got there. In fact, my experience started in the train itself. Just half an hour before when I was about to reach Kopargaon station, I got a call from one of my very good client that why didn't I tell him that I have left for Shirdi. He was so kind to me, that he got me to attend aartis from the front, through VIP entry. I thank him and of course our Deva ji for such wonderful darshan. (Although, I sometimes feel that I should not have used VIP route to take darshan, but then I leave that also to the marzi of Deva ji) Now coming to my ATM related experience, the evening when I was about to leave, I didn't have any cash. I was on the main road, so I checked the UTI ATM, but (unfortunately) it was out of order. Then I checked another ATM (don't remember which Bank it was..its near to UTI ATM), but it was also not working. Then somebody reminded me of the ATM inside the Samadhi Mandir comlpex. Wow... I simply ran there, not just to take cash, but to have a last glimpse of our master Sai Baba from the window which shows His left side of the face... I got a chance to bow to Him in front of Him once again. Don't we feel like seeing our God again and again number of times?? I now feel that He wanted to say that listen kid, now you are going back doesn't mean that you should forget me.. I am with you, infact have been with you even when you were not aware of it. These small small miracles happen just to multiply our faith on God. I want to say one more thing. Some events, good or bad, happen in our lives to change our life completely. Sainath is there to catch us in His arms when we are falling from Mount Everest. Lets all have full faith in Him and never let our attention shift away from Him. We all love you from the core of our hearts Deva. Lastly, I would like to wish everyone, A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. JAI SAI RAM ~ Puneet

ARTICLES FROM DEVOTEES BABA'S MIRACLE - 15: ~ (A RECORD OF THRILLING EXPERIENCES OF (LATE) DR.P.S.RAMASWAMI ~ (AN ARDENT DEVOTEE OF SHRI SHIRDI SAI BABA)

If you know about Sai Baba what I know about Him. You will call Him the Master of all creation" ~ Meher Baba

To get the knowledge (Realization) of Self , Dhyana (Meditation) is necessary. ~ Baba

THE

The incident herein described bears ample testimony to the above-quoted assertion of Shri Meher Baba regarding Baba's absolute mastery over all creation, animate and inanimate. Indeed, we can realise that in reality the Creator and Creation are one, the latter being but the ocular demonstration of the former. This is in consonance with the latest discovery in the light of the post nuclear research in the frontiers of science according to which all manifested nature is only a phenomenon of throught behind which is The Thinker. This in turn reflects and reiterates the Biblical enunciation regarding the origin of creation viz., "Let there be light" said God and there was light and the Upanishadic axiom viz., "Swayam Samkalpa Sam Siddhi" i.e., God's manifestation in concrete form according to His will. It is as God's incarnation that Baba has repeatedly, both during His Incarnate stay at Shirdi and after His Mahasamadhi, given recurring proof of this divine aspect. As a direct corollary of this, forces of Nature like rain, storm, lightening, fire etc., bowed to his will. The present instance is an example of this. We celebrated the marriage of our youngest son Dr. V Satyanarayana Sai, now a lecturer in the A.PS. University, Rewa, MP, on April 5, 1981 at Rayagada in Orissa. The other members of the family having dispersed to their respective Places, we were returning to Rewa via Raipur by the morning Passenger train from Waltair on the 7th of the month. We had not known that apart from the inconveniecnes incidental to travelling long distance by passenger train, we were wittingly in for an ordeal. We learnt later that people of the region avoid this train as a rule. The route traverses a tribal area more or less entirely dependent for sustenance on the sale and export of the forest produce without arm middleman by the tribals themselves. The Summer is the season of mangoes and the jack fruit in unbelievable abundance of Nature's bounty which has to be seen to be believed. At every stop came an unending stream of the girijans carrying the maximum possible load of the above items and literally hurling themselves and their burdens helter - skelter through the doors and windows into the compartments nearest to them. No railway control (even if tried) could stem that onslaught, as it were, at any cost. The result was the compartments were literally jampacked and choking. It was a frightful situation in which one did not have any space to move at all. Even the lavatories were full so that we were obliged with unshed tears to possess our souls in patience till we reached Raipur, a matter of twelve hours of torture since to detrain too was physically impossible.

However, that is not only anticipating things too soon in vain, but also overlooking the terrible ordeal of near annihilation of the compartment in a burst of flames before that. For, this is what happened all of a sudden without any one knowing it. One of our party consisting of my eldest son, the newly married couple and my wife besides myself, (I think it was the first,) said that smoke was emanating from the fan above, from a few wisps at first, later it suddenly swelled to clouds, slowly filling the entire compartment. It took a little time to realise the potential danger it portended. It was obvious, that there was spontaneous ignition in the wiring possibly due to a short circuit, which if not checked at once would prove dangerous. My son Satyanarayana immediately tugged & the chain to stop to the train. Unfortunately it gave way. We became frantic. It is imperative to mention here that even in such a situation pregnant with danger, the girijans filling the compartment just continued sitting with their sphinx-like faces, and far away looks, unmoved, unflappable, as if lost in contemplation like 'tapasvins' entrenched in their firm faith that "God is in His Heaven and all is right with the world!" It was an object-lesson for us to understand what it is to trust God in toto, this was what Baba meant when He beseeched His devotees to cast their burdens on Him and keep QUIET letting Him to take care and provide every protection we need. Indeed, it shamed me into knowing how much too far below their standard-in truth how hypocritical -my fickle faith was. Their's was RESIGNATION flowing from complete SURRENDER. Presently, the train stopped at a station and the guard happend to pass by. When he was told of our predicament and requested for urgent redress, he just remarked with the utmost callousness, "Marjao! (go, die) and passed on as if he were Fate's minion. He clearly smelt of liquor. We had no alternative except to fall back upon our Unfailing Eternal Source of Succour and to pray. Rightly has Dr.Alexis Carrel, the great medical scientist and savant averred, that it is not the Atom that will provide the infinite source of power for the future of the humanity but PRAYER, for, when you pray with all your heart, you are linked to that DYNAMO THAT SPINS the Universe. The All-Merciful and solicitous Baba ever on the alert as Bhaktha Paraadina did come to the rescue in a most unexpected and dramatic manner before despair complete by overwhelmed us. In a spilt second, the skies darkened with gathering clouds and there began a downpour which continued for over an hour, lashing on all sides, partly floooding the compartment and completely smoothering out the smoke and the threatened configuration! Story for this Week: “ Letter from Lord Rama” Shavani went to her mailbox and there was only one letter. She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again. There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address. She read the letter: “Dear Shavani: I’m going to be in your neighbourhood Saturday afternoon and I'd like to stop by for a visit. Love Always, Lord Ram” Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table. "Why would the Lord want to visit me? I'm nobody special. I don't have anything to offer." With that thought, Shavani remembered her empty kitchen cabinets. "Oh my goodness, I really don't have anything to offer. I'll have to run down to the store and buy something for dinner." She reached for her purse and counted out its contents. Five dollars and forty cents. "Well, I can get some bread and Vegetables, at least." She threw on her coat and hurried out the door. A loaf of French bread, various vegetables, and a carton of milk, leaving Shavani with grand total of twelve cents to last her until Monday. Nonetheless, she felt good as she headed home, her meager offerings tucked under her arm. "Hey lady, can you help us, lady?" Shavani had been so absorbed in her dinner plans; she hadn't even noticed two figures huddled in the alleyway. A man and a woman, both of them dressed in little more than rags "Look lady, I ain't got a job, ya know, and my wife and I have been living out here on the street, and, well, now it's getting cold and we're getting kind of hungry and, well, if you could help us. Lady, we’d really appreciate it." Shavani looked at them both. They were dirty, they smelled bad and frankly, she was certain that they could get some kind of work if they really wanted to. "Bhai ji, I'd like to help you, but I'm a poor woman myself. All I have is a few vegetables, some bread and milk and I'm having an important guest for dinner tonight and I was planning on serving that to Him." "Yeah, well, okay lady, I understand. Thanks anyway." The man put his arm around the woman's shoulders, turned and headed back into the alley. As she watched

them leave, Shavani felt a familiar twinge in her heart.

"Bhai ji, wait!" The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley after them. "Look, why don't you take this food. I'll figure out something else to serve my guest." She handed the man her grocery bag. "Thank you lady. Thank you very much!" "Yes, thank you!" It was the man's wife, and Shavani could see now that she was shivering. "You know, I've got another coat at home. Here, why don't you take this one.” Shavani unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman's shoulders. Then smiling, she turned and walked back to the street...without her coat and with nothing to serve her guest. "Thank you lady! Thank you very much!" Shavani was chilled by the time she reached her front door, and worried too. The Lord was coming to visit and she didn't have anything to offer Him. She fumbled through her purse for the door key. But as she did, she noticed another envelope in her mailbox. "That's odd. The mailman doesn't usually come twice in one day." She took the envelope out of the box and opened it. She read the letter: “Dear Shavani: It was so good to see you again. Thank you for the lovely meal. And thank you, too, for the beautiful coat. Love Always Lord Ram” The air was still cold, but even without her coat, Shavani no longer felt the cold. A thrill ran through her entire being and her eyes were filled with tears of joy.

SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SATCHARITA ~ CHAPTER 41 Contributed by: swamy@saimail.com

Story of the Picture - Stealing the Rags and Reading of Jnaneshwari Continuted from last issue‌..

If one devotes his entire time to me and rests

When Ali Mahomed returned home after two months, he was surprised to find Baba's picture on the wall as before. He did not understand how his Mehta took away all the pictures except this. He immediately took it out and kept it in his cupboard, fearing that if his brother -in-law saw it, he would do away with it. While he was thinking how it should be disposed of, and who would keep it and guard it well, Sai Baba Himself as it were, suggested to him that he should see and consult Moulana Ismu Mujavar and abide by his opinion. He saw the Moulana and told him everything. After mature consideration they both decided that the picture should be presented to Annasaheb (Hemadpant) and that he would protect it well. Then they both went to Hemadpant and presented the picture in the nick of time. This story shows how Baba knew all the past, present and future, and how skillfully He pulled the wires and fulfilled desires of His devotees. The following story shows that Baba liked very much those persons who took real interest in matters spiritual and that He removed all their difficulties and made them happy.

in me, need

Sai Ram. Baba kept His promise to visit Hamadpant's house on that particular Holi day. He prepared fear nothing the ground for that a few months in advance. Nothing is impossible for Baba. Sai Ram.

for body and soul.

Stealing the Rags and Reading of Jnaneshwari

Mr.B.V.Deo who was Mamlatdar of Dahanu (Thana District) wished for a long time to read Jnaneshwari - (the well-known Marathi commentary on the Bhagawad-Gita by Sant Jnaneshwar), along with other scriptures. He could read daily one chapter of the Bhagawad~ Baba Gita, and some portion of other books; but when he took Jnaneshwari in hand, some difficulties cropped up and he was precluded from reading it. He took three months' leave, went to Shirdi and thence to his home at Pound for rest. He could read there other books but when he opened Jnaneshwari, some evil or stray thoughts came crowding in his mind and stopped him in the effort. Try however he might, he was not able to read even a few lines of the book with ease. Sai Ram. The book is one with the God, the name is one with the God, the photo is one with the God or Guru. Unless God / Guru wills it, we cannot visit a temple or a saint, or take up the nama japa, keep a photograph / painting / sculpture or read a divine book. In fact, thinking that we have a free will apart from God / Guru is the height of delusion. Sai pulled Deo to Him to rid him of such delusions. Sai Ram. Will be continued‌.

Quintessence from Shri Sai Baba’s Philosophy (By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao) ~ Contribution by "Shashank"crazydiode@gmail.com, Mrs and Mr Anand

Chapter 35: The Wheel of Time and the Pangs of sorrow and Death Baba says: Man’s insecurity and unhappiness are due to misunderstanding about his true nature, identifying himself with his body, he gets perturbed by its afflictions and thereby grieves over its impermanence. Baba always says that destruction is only to body and not to the soul. The soul that stays in the body is talked if as attaining boy-hood, youth and old age even so it is taking up another body. So a man who understands that the soul is eternal never worries over the change tenancy of; even though there are changes in the bodies, a wise person will not grieve over death. The Self which is subtle weapon cannot be split, fire cannot burn, water cannot drench nor can it be dried. This is because of its nature is to penetrate everything. The soul acquires a body to work out its Karma and all that the man enjoys in the world is a result of Karma acquired in the previous births. The difference of states, birth and the like are due to Karma and doesn’t pertain to the Atman. So the right attitude one must develop in the life is to accept one’s lot with equanimity of mind without getting affected by them and perform one’s duty surrendering all actions to Sai Baba. Sri Sai Baba showered His grace on the writer of this book by giving spiritual messages since 1987. In some of the messages Baba explained what death is and how to face it. The following is the essence of some of His messages: 1. Realize what death is. Once you understand the nature of death, you will not think about death. If any one feels that he is not to face hardships, it would only be a delusion. Hardships are inevitable to everyone – even to the great ones and divine personages. Prompting of desires is the root cause of all sorrows. 2. Death is not only physical – it could be mental as well. Though your body has not committed any sins, you are suffering mentally and getting depressed. That is mental death. 3. Do not brood over death until you have thoroughly understood the nature of death. Will be continued….
