Editor’s LETTER
Happy New Year! The launch of the 2019 Henfield Festival, in conjunction with the Horsham District Year of Culture, is a great way to kick off the New Year in the village. A group of organisers have been working hard to produce a really interesting, diverse and unusual calendar of exciting events for you to enjoy over the year, celebrating the very best of our lovely village and involving lots of local clubs and groups. Please keep an eye out in BN5, we’ll make sure we highlight all the upcoming Festival events for you to join in with, and see page 26 for an introduction to the Festival. When I was asked by Singing Hills to visit them and find out about their historic Wurlitzer organs, I had no idea how fascinating the afternoon would be. I was in for a huge surprise when one beautiful carved mahogany organ was rolled aside, to reveal a pit from which rose another rather splendid organ, lit up and changing colour, with rows of keys and stops. The story behind these incredible instruments is on page 30, please do look out for the concerts too. We wish you all a really happy and healthy 2019, keep shopping in Henfield and enjoying the beautiful countryside we live in. Editor
