Insider experiences bring India closer to home Trafalgar escorted a group of UK travel agents on a trip to India to experience its Leisurely Rajasthan with Mumbai guided holiday itinerary, which is new for 2017. The agents spent eight days experiencing the sights, smells, sounds and colours of India through its history, architecture and culinary range. The tour took in some of India’s most colourful cities, including Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Highlights included visits to two UNESCO World Heritage sites – Humayun’s Tomb Fort and Qutub Minar – as well as one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the Taj Mahal. In Jaipur, known as the ‘Pink City’ for its trademark-building colour, the group viewed The Palace of the Winds, a spectacular five-storey wonder. The trip included a ‘Be My Guest’ dinner with a local family in their home – a new addition this year to Trafalgar’s tour offerings. There was also a number of 'insider experiences' with local ground handlers, such as a rickshaw ride around Old Delhi, learning about the lives of street children cared for by the Salaam Baalak Trust, turban tying, kite flying and discovering
hand-block printing. Myah Doddington of Central Co-op Travel Beccles, said: “Probably my favourite part of the trip was when we stopped off at a local village on our way to Jaipur, from Agra. The families were so welcoming and excited to see us, and were just as interested in my culture as I was about theirs. It was a truly unforgettable experience, which I never could have set up if I were travelling by myself. ” Aaron Candler, Trafalgar Sales Manager said: "Our agents had a blast!
