After pinning Ibiza to the Formula 1 map, the friendship between the iconic beach club Blue Marlin Ibiza and the prestigious F1 team Sahara Force India continues apace. The Blue Marlin Ibiza logo has been carried round the circuits at full speed, emblazoned on Sahara Force India’s distinctive pink livery. The team finished fourth in the Championship, in 2016, its best ever result, and half-way through the 2017 season it finds itself in the same position. Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon are both in the top 10 of the drivers’ championship and their best results so far have been fourth and fifth respectively in the Spanish GP. In ten years, Sahara Force India has rightfully become one of the teams fighting it out at the sharp end of the Formula One grid. We talk with drivers Sergio “Checo” Perez and Esteban Ocon to find out what it means when you are racing at the cutting edge.
Después de colocar a Ibiza en el mapa de la Fórmula 1, la amistad entre el icónico beach club Blue Marlin Ibiza y la prestigiosa escudería de Fórmula 1 Sahara Force India avanza a toda velocidad. El logotipo de Blue Marlin Ibiza luce raudo y veloz en los distintivos coches de color rosa de Sahara Force India. La escudería ha acabado clasificada en el cuarto lugar en el campeonato, su mejor resultado desde 2016, y a mitad de la temporada de 2017 ya se encuentra en la misma posición. Sergio Pérez y Esteban Ocon se encuentran los dos entre los diez mejores del campeonato de pilotos, habiendo acabado como cuarto y quinto respectivamente en el Gran Premio de España. En estos diez últimos años hemos visto cómo Sahara Force India se ha convertido de pleno derecho en una de las escuderías que luchan por conseguir un lugar en los primeros puestos de la parrilla de la F1. Hemos hablado con los pilotos Sergio “Checo” Pérez y con Esteban Ocon para saber qué se siente cuando la velocidad lo domina todo.
