UPDATE Welcome to the latest edition of Capestone Today. Urbex would like to offer a warm welcome to the newest families who have joined our Capestone community in the last few months. Several of our new community members purchased within the Kelsall release and may have noticed construction on Kelsall Park has been completed, meaning all residents are now invited to experience the fun that this brand-new space has to offer. The park features naturalistic timber play equipment and space for a kick around area, perfect for throwing around a footy. For residents who love walking with the refreshing lake breezes, you can now also enjoy the newly extended lineal park that has opened along the lakefront of our Kelsall release.

In other unveilings, the new Mango Hill State Secondary College has now opened for students in years 7 & 8. Located just down the road from Capestone, the college boasts impressive new facilities which will help provide a rich learning environment for students across all learning areas. Growing each year, the college has been designed to eventually cater up to 1,800 students across years 7-12. It will be an exciting 2020 for the community, with the application for the final stages of construction at Capestone, on the northern side of the lake, nearing approval. These works on the last stages are anticipated to commence around mid-year with completion aimed for December. Living in Capestone Karthik and Shanti have lived in Capestone for almost three years, having built their dream home on their chosen block of land. We sat down with the couple to chat about their experience. Why did you decide to build in Capestone? We chose Capestone mainly for the close proximity to services, with the main attraction of the Mango Hill railway stations. We travel to work every day by train, boycotting the traffic and CBD parking fees. It is really great to have a Westfield Shopping Centre at your doorstep. The centre has expanded a lot to cater for the growing community, including more shops and even a cinema. The Capestone development is also close to the North Lakes hub where most of the retail giants are located, we especially like Ikea and Costco. Capestone is in a good location, situated central to Redcliffe where we like to relax on the beach, and close to the main arterial routes of M1 with easy access to the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. The land price provided great value based on what we were looking for. Tell us a bit about the process you went through to purchase your land? The sales team at Capestone, both Phil and Trish, were really helpful and very knowledgeable about the land. They provided great insight and advice on the land location which helped us decide on our choice of land. They kept us informed about all the stages and were upfront about what we could expect on the land process. Tell us about the opportunities within the Capestone community? We usually go to the parks close to our home and have met and made new friends in the local community. It is nice to get out and everyone is approachable as we all have a sense of wellbeing. The parks have a very safe and positive vibe where everyone is encouraged to be active and healthy. The parks are well thought through and there is something for everyone. Even my kids go to the parks to get fit at the outdoor gyms. We also enjoy the Christmas movie nights where everyone gets together with festive spirit and enjoys a Christmas movie. What future developments in Capestone are you looking forward to? My favourite attraction in Capestone is the newly completed lake. I really love the lakeâ€™s design where it has been created as a circuit. Once the other end of the lake is complete, it will allow everyone to walk around the lake to better their wellbeing. The lake has nice spots to sit down, relax and enjoy the calmness. It helps to reduce our stress for a clear and active mind. We are really looking forward to the development and opening of the village hubs, which will provide residents an area to shop and relax. I am excited to see what shops are opening and I am sure this will only further benefit the thriving community!
New Year at MHSSC! The brand new Mango Hill State Secondary College (MHSSC) welcomed its first students in years 7 and 8 in 2020. MHSSC is set to grow by one year level each year for the next five years, eventually catering for up to 1,800 students across years 7 – 12. MHSSC boasts impressive new facilities which will provide rich learning environments for students across all learning areas, with specialist facilities for the Arts, STEM, Applied Technology, Business and ICT, and Health and Physical Education. We are thrilled to welcome the new secondary college into our Mango Hill community.
New Room Open! Kidz Magic Capestone aims to celebrate the magic of childhood each and every day with their high-quality curriculum, engaging environments and nurturing connections from a team of dedicated and passionate early childhood educators. Stay tuned for an exciting year ahead with the Kidz Magic Community.
Capestone Christmas Event Capestone’s annual Christmas event took place on the 7th of December 2019, with more than 300 residents coming together to enjoy a festive picnic dinner and movie under the stars. Families were treated to Vietnamese and Greek food, children enjoyed making new friends in the playground and a surprise meet and greet from Santa Claus followed by a screening of Dr Seuss’ The Grinch on the outdoor cinema. We would like to thank everyone for their involvement and attendance and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

The Active Park at Capestone is a must for residents of any exercise level.
Residents are encouraged to download the KOMPAN Sport & Fitness app for free exercises and demonstrations.
Active Park can be accessed on the corner of Parkway Terrace and Swanson Street.
ARTS AND CRAFTS! Easter Bunny 1
Collect a toilet roll, white paint, small googly eyes, pipe cleaners, small pom pom, coloured card stock and glue! Paint your rolls white. Make bunny ears by tracing out ears on white cardstock and then making a smaller ear insert with some coloured paper of your choice. Glue two small googly eyes to your paper roll. Twist three small pipe cleaners around each other to make whiskers and glue down to the paper roll. To take part, colour in the next page and ask your parents to take a photo for you. There will be a post on the Capestone Facebook page, calling for the community to upload their colouring in pictures to the post. The most creative will WIN a special prize!
