Ben McIntyre Exhibition Opening “Nepal – Colour and Contrast” An exhibition of Ben McIntyre’s photographs will open at King and Parry, 154 Parry Street Newcastle at 11 am, Saturday 28 August. Ben is a young local photographer who travelled to Nepal last year at the age of 11. While wandering the alleys, temples and hilltops around Kathmandu, Ben took inspiring photos with a Canon EOS 30D on loan from D&V Photography. The exhibition features photographs of temples, street scenes, restored palace gardens and the majestic Himalaya. One of the photographs shows prayer flags at Swayambhunath Stupa, on top of a hill in the suburbs north of Kathmandu. Famous for its monkeys, it is one of the main Buddhist temples in the capital. Ben says “the huge number of flags reflects the bustle that is Kathmandu. But the prayers, fluttering in the wind, provide a sense peace and hope amongst the chaos. I love the contrast of the colours through the foliage.” King & Parry specialise in professional printing and custom framing offering finished prints and frames of a superior standard that represent good value for money. Ben McIntyre’s exhibition will continue throughout September. The photographs are for sale in a limited edition, in framed and unframed formats. For further information call 49612383.
