Garden shows in Japan Quando state per arrivare alla Gardening World Cup, la sensazione che state per raggiungere un posto speciale è dovuta al panorama, questo emerge vistosamente sia dalle risaie che dai boschetti di bambù dell’isola più meridionale del Giappone. A differenza di gran parte del resto del Giappone, questo skyline risulterà familiare a noi europei per la notevole somiglianza che ha con l’Olanda, anche se a questo mancano le colline. creato come un Parco tematico “olandese” per intrattenere i visitatori giapponesi. La caratteristica principale del parco è il Palazzo Huis Ten Bosh, ovvero la replica di una delle residenze della famiglia reale olandese. E’ in questo palazzo che si svolge la Gardening World Cup, uno dei principali eventi di giardinaggio in Giappone. No matter how you arrive at the gardening World Cup, the first indication you are arriving somewhere special is the skyline that emerges out of the rice fields and bamboo groves of Japans southernmost Island. main feature of the park is the Palace Huis Ten Bosh, an exact recreation of one of the residences of the Dutch Royal family, it is with in the grounds of this palace that they hold one of the main events of the gardening year in Japan, the Gardening World Cup. Now in its fifth year, it is a international show to rival many others, and brings together the world’s best Garden designers who compete head to head to build a garden to win the coveted award of ‘Best in Show’.
