A Battle for God Article by Elizabeth J. Perhaps you know someone or have a loved one who is across the continent; fighting for our freedom. Every day they lace up their boots, arm themselves, and go out to the battlefield and each day they face danger, but they wouldn’t be there if they didn’t believe that it was worth facing. There is a battle that, as Christian’s, we all must fight. We may not be in the Afghan desert fighting for our country but we fight a battle all the same. We fight for a Higher Power; we fight for God. This is our battle and we are summoned to it until the last trumpet sounds. Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the

manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. --1 Corinthians 12: 1, 4-7 “You are so talented! You surely have a gift.” All of us have been

praised for something we’re good at. Perhaps you don’t think you’re good at anything and maybe you don’t believe that you have any gifts but if you are a Christian; you are mistaken, my friend. Our Creator has given us all unique abilities that are our weapons to carry as we go out to do battle for Him. The first step in finding your personal battle for the Kingdom of

Heaven is to first find the vision that God has placed within you. “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29: 18a How has God gifted you and what talents do you possess? These are the questions to ask when searching for your spot on the battlefield. If you really can’t pin point your God-given gifts; here are some tips for beginning to discover them. •Earnestly pray for the Lord’s leading. Ask Him to help you see the blessings and gifts of grace that he has given to you. •Ask your parents about it. Our parents see us better than we see ourselves and they know our strengths, weaknesses, and talents. Many times my Savior has used my parents to help me see things through His eyes.
