Lemon:Aid – Making a Stand For Clean Water Blood:Water Invites Kids to Hold a Lemonade Stand to Quench the Thirst of our Friends in Africa. Nashville, TN – When life gives you lemons, don’t just make lemonade. Make a stand for clean water! Over 345 million Africans lack access to clean, safe water. But, with your help, that can change. So, Blood:Water invites kids of all ages to hold a Lemon:Aid stand and help quench the thirst of our friends in Africa. Our goal is to be able to raise money so that we can help communities build wells, water filters, and rain tanks. Even just $1 goes a long way. A lemonade stand doesn’t take much. All you need is a card table, some poster and a little imagination. Visit bloodwater.org/lemonaid to order your Lemon:Aid Campaign Kit and receive posters, balloons and other goodies to get your stand started. By donating the profits from your Lemon:Aid stand to Blood:Water, together, we can help end the water crisis in Africa. About Blood:Water Blood:Water is an equipping agency that partners with African grassroots organizations to address the HIV/AIDS and water crises. They do this by identifying Africa’s hidden heroes and coming alongside their vision for change. Through technical, financial and organizational support, Blood:Water expands the reach and effectiveness of African civil society organizations and the communities they serve. Founded by multi-platinum GRAMMY® Award winning band, Jars of Clay, Blood:Water began in 2004 as a call to personalize the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. After funding a late stage AIDS hospice and discovering the vital link between living with HIV/AIDS and the need for clean, safe water, Blood:Water launched a nationwide effort to provide clean water and sanitation to 1,000 communities in Sub-Saharan Africa based on the equation that $1 provides one African with clean water for an entire year.
Since its launch in 2004, Blood:Water has raised over $22 million through the creative efforts of tens of thousands of individuals seeking to make a difference. Blood:Water believes that Africa holds the leadership, creativity, passion and resolve necessary to address the HIV/AIDS and water crises. That’s why they’ve spent the past ten years working alongside more than a dozen African organizations to bring clean water and HIV/AIDS support to nearly a million people in 11 countries.
