By Bill McElhinney Hearing their little girl cry out in pain was a nightmare for Blenheim parents Hayden and Shelley Cole. Their five-year-old daughter, Nevaeh, had to spend four days in Wairau Hospital after contracting flu virus type A, which can often have severe
outcomes for the young and the elderly. “Nevaeh had just started school – she’d only been there a month,” Shelley says. “On Saturday a week ago she became lethargic and stopped eating. Then she started coughing, and said it hurt. Continued on page 2.
Little Nevaeh Cole is glad to be home with her family, Shelley and Hayden and little brother Jackson, after being hospitalised with a bad dose of the flu.
