SECRET STASH CASH 17TH ST PATRICKS DAY POKER + TRIVIA

GENERAL BUSINESS Mark Hennelly, General Manager

Welcome to our new format brochure to keep you up to date with what’s happening at Brothers. This will replace both the shorter monthly flyers and the longer Bulletin to make information more accessible in a timelier manner. There’s certainly a lot to look forward to this month with St Patricks Day and all the NRL action starting up just a couple of the highlights in March. As I write, the selected builders are finalising their costs to submit their tenders to our Architects Brand + Slater who will evaluate and make a recommendation to our Board for the final decision. You may have seen the stream of clipboard carrying tradies in the club for over two weeks. So, hopefully the tender process will be finalised, a builder appointed and the project commenced most likely by the end of March. Then the fun begins. Management and the Board always need to be aware of trends and events that affect the business of our Club. I have not seen the hospitality industry as competitive as it is currently. Operating costs continue to rise and we all have less disposable income to share around. These conditions often result in decisions that affect not only a business but individuals. Recently the Management structure was reviewed resulting in two positions, the Operations Manager and Food & Beverage Manager being made redundant. The responsibilities of the positions are currently being shared by other management. Management and the Board believe that in the long term this will be a decision that is in the best interest of the Club. As a team we look to move forward and appreciate the continued support of all of our members especially with the excitement of the Master Plan to commence in the immediate future. Regards,
