HOOK, Jimmy Carl Hnatiak Jimmy Carl Hnatiak Hook, 41, of Langley, B.C. passed away suddenly on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012. Jimmy was a very outdoor person whose passion was kayaking, traveling & camping. His dear and close friend, Steve Crowe traveled B.C.’s Southwest and wrote a book on kayaking to help beginners and advanced kayakers. Steve was always there for Jimmy through his illness. Jimmy had an infectious smile and was so very kind and caring to everyone. Jimmy is survived by a very grieving family his mom, Susan (Scott) Hook and stepfather, Garry Hook; his only sister, Tinalee; niece, Payton; nephew, Mason Larson. He loved his grandmother, Martha dearly. He left behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Langley to Kamloops. The only words to describe Jimmy are “You light up my life.� He is preceded in death by his father, James Ronald Hnatiak. Go to Facebook regarding memorials in B.C. 1944-2012 Melvin passed on July 7, 2012. An avid fisherman and outdoors man. He loved star gazing. He packed his telescope everywhere he went. Mel lost his life due to an unfortunate boating incident. He died doing what he loved best. Mel is survived and greatly missed by his brothers Ray and Donnie, sisters Peggy and Franky, Aunty Margie and Aunty Margeret, several cousins, nieces, nephews, best friend and fishing buddy Alan Deglan and several other friends. Mel was predeceased by his father Ray, mother Mary-Frances and brother Norman. We will miss Mel’s great sense of humor and zest for life. Born in Burnaby, BC, she lived in Fort Langley for over 50 years, worked at the BC Telephone Company (Telus) & was an active member of the St. Andrews United Church in Fort Langley. She will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Ruth Nelson, brother-in-law Tom Hunter, nieces Margaret, Beverley, Mary-Jane, Elizabeth & Jennifer, nephews Brian & Bradley. Her enjoyment of family & friends always included cooking, the horse industry, salmon fishing at Pender Harbour, BC winters in Palm SpringsRancho Mirage, CA. The neighbours & friends in Fort Langley were a very special & important part of her life.
