Mary McKim

Mary McKim passed away peacefully on March 19, 2012 at 92 years of age, at Heron Grove Care Facility. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude, in 2002. Mary will be lovingly missed by her daughter Sharon; son Glen; sisters Anne, Joan, Sylvia; brother Dave; grandchildren Loelei, Melanie (John), Jeffrey (Shelly), Laura, Jennifer (Mike); great-grandchildren Darian, Braden, Calum. Mary worked at Vernon Jubilee Hospital then catered for St. John Ambulance Society. She was an active member of the Multicultural Society and participated in Canada Day Parades and Winter Carnivals. Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed. A heartfelt Thank You to the entire staff of Heron Grove for the exceptional care they gave to Mary. Friends may pay their last respects at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Monday, April 2nd, from 10:00 to 1:30. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of Àowers, donations in Mary’s memory can be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of BC, or, St. John Ambulance Society, Vernon, BC. Don Rae September 18, 1925 - March 25, 2012

Hughie Donald Stewart Rae fell asleep in death on Sunday, March 25, 2012 and will remain in Jehovah God’s care until his resurrection. Don was predeceased by his wife Ellen in 1998 after 51 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughters: Elva (Roger) Hutzkal and Nola (Glen) Marth and his son Keith (Barbara) Rae; grandchildren: Richard (Nicole) and Trevor (Kerri) Hutzkal, Holley and Gary (April) Marth and Stephanie and Lisa Rae, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Don also worked running logging companies, tie mill, backhoe and building residential and commercial projects. He moved to where the next job was which took him to new communities and allowed him to meet many new friends. Don dedicated his life to Jehovah in Vancouver in 1966 and through the years he has had the privilege of working on many Kingdom Hall builds and renovations including the Okanagan Assembly Centre in Vernon. A Memorial Service for Don Rae will be held on Monday, April 2 at 2:00 pm at the Okanagan Assembly Centre, 1424 Mission Road, Vernon. In lieu of flowers, Don would have appreciated donations to the Watchtower Bible Society c/o Box 831, Vernon, BC V1T 6M8 or North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1W4.

Dorothy Cecile (Dugas) Regan It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy Regan, at the age of 96. Dorothy was born on February 27, 1916 in Pointe Fortune, Quebec. She was raised, worked and started her family in Montreal. During the War, Edgar was stationed by the RCAF to Vancouver and after the War they settled in Vancouver. Dorothy died on March 22, 2012 in Delta, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar Murphy Regan, who died at 48 in 1963. Dorothy was the third of fourteen children and was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Mabel Dugas and nine siblings. She is survived by a large extended family. Dorothy was caring and gentle person who always put her family first and will be missed by her children, Keray (Gwen) Regan, Vernon, BC., Bernita (Norman) Mangnall, Delta, BC., Andre Regan, Victoria, BC, Mahara (Ken) Sinclaire, White Rock, BC, Leonard (Beverly) Regan, Victoria, BC, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff at the Deltaview care home for their care of our mother. A family Memorial Service will be held at the end of April at Delta, BC.

John Lovas

was born on June 6th, 1930 in Montreal, Quebec and passed away on March 27th, 2012 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 81 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, to whom he was married for 56 years, his sons; Tom (Jeannie Duncan) Lovas of Vernon, B.C. and Chris (Sheila) Lovas of Francois Lake, B.C., his daughter; Carolyn (Stewart Brown) Lovas of Williamstown, Ontario, his grandchildren; Hailey, Nicola, Nelson and Shelby Lovas and Emily Brown, his halfsister; Helen (Mark) Kwiatkowski of Montreal, Quebec as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; John and Anna Lovas, his sister; Betty and his brother; Leslie. Cremation preceded the Funeral Mass which will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Dale Normandeau Celebrant.
