In partnership with our non-profit development arm, Greenville Redevelopment Corporation (GRDC) and Douglas Development, TGHA is in the process of developing 115 new affordable units with total development costs of approximately $17 million. The Manor at West Greenville, a 55 unit Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development,

We are also excited to announce the purchase of Valley Creek, a 48 unit LIHTC family development. These three developments will add 163 units of quality affordable housing opportunities to be made available to the 5,000 families that are on our wait lists. In 2015 TGHA received approval from the US-HUD for a Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) portfolio conversion that will allow our agency the ability to leverage public and private debt and equity for the preservation of public housing units. The conversion is currently underway as we are leveraging $1.5 million of capital funds to address deferred maintenance and make

TGHA provides rental subsidies and affordable housing to over 7,000 Greenville residents. Our families’ live in healthy neighborhoods that offer social, educational and economic opportunities for themselves and their children. In accordance with HUD’s national objectives to end homelessness, our agency partners with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Williams Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center/Greenville OutPatient Center by providing rental assistance and case management services to 123 homeless veterans through the HUD – Veterans Affairs and Supportive Housing (VASH) program. In June of 2015, TGHA partnered with United Housing Connections provides a supported path from homelessness to permanent and affordable housing for 50 homeless individuals and families through the HCV Program. Our efforts in preserving and developing affordable housing are made possible through the vision and support of the housing authority’s Board of Commissioners, elected officials, the City and County of Greenville, 600+ landlords, and our countless partners. We thank each of them for their shared passion and commitment to preserving affordable housing.
