Introduction Tamsui is the place full of beautiful and historic scenes such as Fort San Domingo, Mackyay’s Rented Home,Tamsui Mangal Nature Reserve and so on. We can categorize these spots into three parts, natural spots, historic spots and shopping spots. In the first conference news, we will introduce the natural spots. and let you know the natural beauty of Tamsui. Tamsui is the one of best place for the ecotourism. Beside the Tamsui River, there is the Hongshulin mangrove swamp. Many kinds of protected animals live in the Hongshulin mangrove swamp.You can ride the bicycle to travel the Tamsui Riverside Bikeway and enjoy the beautiful Tamsui River.

TA M S U I R I V E R MANGROVE CONSERVATION AREA LOCATED QUITE NEAR THE HONGSHULIN MRT STATION IS THE HONGSHULIN MANGROVE SWAMP, THE LARGEST AREA OF HOMOGENOUS MANGROVE SWAMP OF A TYPE CALLED SHUIBITZAI ; KANDELIA CANDEL IN CHINESE. THIS TYPE OF MANGROVE, WHICH IS USUALLY FOUND IN ESTUARIES, HAS ADAPTED TO THE SALTY WATERS THAT WASH IN WITH THE TIDES. THIS FASCINATING ENVIRONMENT IS ALSO FULL OF RIVERSIDE BIRDS, SUCH AS EGRETS AND SNIPES AND OVER 30 KINDS OF CRABS IN THE AREA. THE BEST WAY OF GETTING INTO THE SWAMP IS VIA THE MANGROVE CONSERVATION AREA WHICH IS LOCATED ON LANE 50 OF WAIGANJENLIN SOUTH OF THE HONGSHULIN MRT STATION. ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE STATION IS THE MANGROVE SWAMP EXHIBITION CENTER WHERE VISITORS CAN GAIN UNDERSTANDINGS TOWARD THE SPECIAL ECOLOGY OF THE SWAMPS.

MOUNT GUANYIN PART OF THE NORTH COAST NATIONAL SCENIC REGION, MOUT GUANYIN IS NAMED AFTER BUDDHIST GODDESS OF MERCY. MOUNT GUANYIN WAS GIVEN THIS NAME BECAUSE FROM THE RIGHT ANGLE, THE MOUNTAIN RESEMBLES SOME OF PROFILE OF DIVINITY. THE PEAK OF THE BRAVE, A LOCALLY WELL-KNOWN TRAIL OF 616-METER, IS NAME THE “THOUGH GUY’S TRAIL. THIS REFER TO HOW CHALLENGE IT IS WITH THE THOUSANDS OF STEPS. EVERY SPRING AND FALL, YOU CAN SEE CHINESE GOSHAWK AND GRAY-FACED BUZZARD EAGLES SOARING IN THE SKY.
