FALL2012 RETAIL Entry, passage, place, orientation, and hierarchy were the five overall basic programmatic requirements for this two-phase project. Based on the model we constructed in phase one, a retailer was chosen for a Pop-Up Retail store in the SoHo District in New York City. The common concept between the two phases was Horizontal Lines and Right Angles. The concept was simple and straightforward lending the design, as well as retailer, Roma Boots, to be a mix of creativity, innovation, and clean lines.

With the main objective of creating a space based on American contemporary artist, Jasper Johns, 0 - 9 piece, the design lends itself to incorporate big movements. 0 - 9 has visual “pivot” points which is reflected in the design. Bright, saturated colors and the sharp contrast between black and white also emulate Johns’ painting.

The concept of distinct identities woven together was the overall goal between intertwining five very different spaces. Using the same wood flooring, upholstery, and basic shapes and forms carry guests from one space to the other. The classic style of the design also compliments London’s rich and sophisticated history.
