Starting with Cubism, Surrealism and Abstraction, this course on modern art will examine the work of pioneering and controversial artists such as Picasso, Braque and Dali before moving across to the American art scene and the work of Pollock and Rothko. You will look at Pop Art in Britain and the US, as well as contemporary developments such as installation art.

This is one of three courses (The Renaissance, French Impressionists and Modern Art) covering the history of art across three terms. Each course is self-contained and courses may be taken consecutively or individually in any order.
