Musical Notes superstrings camp It’s on again! Dates are Saturday 31 March and Sunday 1 April. If you haven’t already done so, please return permission notes to Ms Ray or the Music office by the end of this week.

Secondary Choir Choir rehearses every Wednesday afternoon from 3.20pm - 4.30pm in Music room one. The afternoon is filled with great songs, food and laughter. We are always eager to welcome new members, just make sure you have transport home, as there are no buses at that time. Any questions please contact either Mrs Stuart or Mr Condon on 6651 5644 ext 218.

Multicultural Harmony Festival The Year 1 and 2 Choir will be representing Bishop Druitt College at the Harmony Day this year. Children in Year 1 and 2 who are going to participate in this performance are asked to arrive at the marshalling area (behind the sound shell) at the Botanic Gardens by 10am for the 10:30am performance. Please make sure your child wears their full summer school uniform. We look forward to seeing you there.

Double Bass There is an opportunity for a student to learn the double bass. We now have one available for lessons. If your child is keen to learn this versatile instrument and become a part of the ensemble program at school, please contact the Music Office on 6651 5644 ext 218. As an incentive to commence lessons, the Music Department will cover the hire fee for this double bass. This is a half size, beginner’s double bass, so it will fit in most vehicles (slightly larger than a cello) and would therefore suit a primary student. Dale Condon Head of Music K-12

college sport rugby league Last week saw the first games of rugby league for the year with the CRL organising a sevens tournament for local schools at Rex Hardaker Oval. BDC fielded teams in the U13’s U14’s and U15’s and played great football in very hot conditions. The U13’s played some great football, losing their first two matches narrowly to just miss out on the finals. Both the U14 and U15 sides also played fantastic team football, with both teams going down in the finals. Thanks to Mr Andrews and Mr Driscoll for their assistance and great coaching skills.
