3  Highly compressed straw boards are the basic building material for this single-family house in Switzerland. The performance of the panels is determined by the densification of the raw material. 4  Two 40-mm highly compressed straw-fibre slabs, with a lightweight panel sandwiched in between, form a load-bearing as well as insulating system.
