Big Sister Boston 2017 Annual Report

Dear Friends,

We are proud to share our 2017 Annual Report with you. None of the achievements would have been possible without you. Our Annual President and Board Chair Report highlights the innovative and creative Chief Executive Officer ways in which the Big Sister Boston community came together to support the girls of Greater Boston, our Little Sisters, and the women who encourage and guide these girls, our Big Sisters. We built upon our history and knowledge of mentoring girls and harnessed the expertise of our Board members, partner organizations, and staff to create more access and opportunities for both girls and women.

Collaboration, leadership, and a focus on the future for our Little Sisters were key to our success. You marched with us on Boston Common, as we raised our voices together for equity. You welcomed Little Sisters from schools in Charlestown and Dorchester into your workspaces, building sisterhood not only among the girls, but among your employees. You provided funding and volunteers to coach our High School Mentoring Academy teen Big Sisters and support them in their post-secondary success. You made it possible for hundreds of Big and Little Sisters to laugh, learn, and grow together through activities that bolster their skills and confidence. When just 7% of philanthropic dollars in the U.S. support organizations that are driving change for women and girls, your generosity speaks volumes. Thank you for being in it with us as we continue on a path of getting #Girls2Great by shifting the landscape one mentoring relationship at a time. With gratitude,
