Glass Component Types Glass is available in many forms and sizes. Use this guide to better understand the different components and how they are sold. You’ll see the System 96 logo throughout this catalog. System 96 is a family of tested-compatible glass products designed and produced to work together, both technically and artistically
Blanks
Square and circle sheets of glass that range in size from 3” up to 24” square. Primarily used as a base layer for all glass projects.
Stringers
17 1/2” round sticks, similar to angel hair pasta. Sold in 5 oz. tubes.
Odd Cuts
Various sized scraps of glass. Sold in 1 lb. & 5 lb. bags.
Slab Blanks
Rectangular sheets of glass that are 12” x 6”.
CutUpsTM Blocks
2 1/2” x 6” rectangles. Sold 10 per case.
Pre cut shapes that are impossible to cut by hand, and extremely difficult to cut with a saw. Sold Individually.
Dichroic Glass
Strips
1/2” x 12” rectangle strips. Sold 20 per case.
This glass is beautiful to look at and is usually used as accent pieces in projects. Dichroic glass will give an oil in water appearance, changing colors depending on the viewing angle.
Bits
1/2” x 1/2” squares. Sold in 1/2 lb. jars.
Buffalo ChipsTM
Small pieces of glass that vary in size from coarse frit to the size of a quarter. Sold in 8 oz. and 20 oz. containers.
Carolina Frit

Ground and tumbled glass pieces available in three sizes: Fine, Medium & Coarse. Sold in 8 oz. jars. Some colors available in 5 lb. bulk.
Add bright bursts of color and random shapes with these paperthin shapes of glass. Confetti can be layered to create custom shapes, patterns and colors when fused.
PebblesTM
Pieces that look like marbles that have melted, or glass Milk Duds. 1/2” diameter. Sold in 1/2 lb. bags.
Millefiori
10” long x 1/4” round sticks. Great for making rod dots by nipping with Wheeled Mosaic Nippers. Sold 12 per case.
Decorate your fused glass art with glass containing tiny flowers! The thicker the piece, the more they will spread out when fused. Create glass jewelry pieces like pendants and barrettes or added to a larger glass projects for decorative flair. Check online for color availability! COE 96. Sold in 2 ounce jars.
