ULTRALIGHT BICYCLES: A 100 YEARS IN THE MAKING Our history began in 1909 in Eibar, a town situated right in the heart of nature. It was there that the three brothers, Domingo, Juan and Cosme decided to change the direction of the family business from making guns to making bicycles. They were aware from the start that having a lightweight and agile bicycle was an essential complement to the cyclist’s strength. With this idea in mind, they developed the bicycle that was to convert the BH (Beistegui Hermanos) brand into one of the most established and successful in the world of cycling. They have achieved significant milestones, such as winning the first Tour of Spain and Federico Echave’s win in the legendary Alpe d’Huez during the 1987 Tour de France.
In recent years, through our sponsorship of Pro Tour teams such as Liberty Seguros, Astana and AG2R we have developed a specific line of highperformance bicycles that are lighter, stiffer and more ergonomic. At BH we manufactured the first monocoque carbon frame weighing less than 800 grammes, placing our frames among the lightest and most efficient in the world and creating a new category – Ultralight bicycles.

ULTRALIGHT BICYCLES: O RESULTADO DE MAIS DE 100 ANOS DE EVOLUÇÃO A nossa história começa no ano de 1909 em Eibar, uma localidade situada em pleno coração da natureza. É lá onde os três irmãos Domingo, Juan e Cosme, decidem alterar o rumo da sua oficina familiar e começam a fabricar bicicletas. Desde o início, foram conscientes de que contar com uma bicicleta ágil e leve é indispensável para complementar a fortaleza do ciclista. Foi este o pensamento que os levou a desenvolver uma bicicleta que tornaria a marca BH (Beistegui Hermanos), numa das mais consolidadas e bem-sucedidas no mundo do ciclismo, chegando a alcançar grandes êxitos como a vitória na Primeira “Vuelta” Ciclista a Espanha ou o triunfo de Federico Echave no lendário Alp d´Huez durante o Tour da França de 1987.
