Located off Main Street in the heart of Windsor, The Border Restaurant has come to be known as a no-frills favorite with great service and even better prices. Leslie Buck has owned The Border for 10 years and said she thinks her customers keep coming back for the varied menu and welcoming wait staff. Before Buck took over, The Border had been in Windsor for five years. “We’ve been here a long time,” Buck said. “It’s homemade food, friendly people work
here, and we have a good variety of food.” While its namesake suggests purely Mexican offerings, Buck said the casual eatery offers about half Mexican and half American dishes, with most full meals costing well under $10. “I always come here for the Mexican (food),” Windsor resident Justin Heldenbrand said. “But everything I’ve had here has been good.” Located at 404 Main St., The Border Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
