Construction Update Winter weather hasn’t slowed progress on the hospital expansion and renovation project. Here’s what’s been happening.
Over the winter crews erected structural steel to support the new expansion which will house surgery, medical imaging, obstetrics and inpatient care. In addition, contractors completed masonry for elevator shafts and stairwells.
EAST HOSPITAL EXPANSION
With the basic building outline completed, crews temporarily enclosed and heated the north half of the building in order to pour concrete floors and install underground piping for mechanical, electrical and plumbing utilities. They will repeat the same work on the south half this spring. The building is on schedule to be completed Winter 2016.

MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING
Crews excavated the site for the new medical office building on the northwest corner of the hospital campus and installed footings and foundations. Shortly after pouring the concrete foundations and footings, the building was backfilled with dirt. Contractors also installed underground piping for mechanical, electrical and plumbing utilities. Steel erection has started and will continue this spring. The building is scheduled for completion late Summer 2016.
