Rockin’ in the free world Phillip Price, a candidate for congress for the 11th district was in Highlands at the Hudson Library on July 27. He opened up his presentation with a song to lighten the mood to a crowd of approximately 40 people. Price said he supports the hard working people of western North Carolina whose voices are not being heard by politicians in Washington D.C.
Fly-in fundraiser set

RC airplanes, helicopters, jets and drones will take flight at a fundraiser on August 12. The Macon AeroModelers are having their annual radio control fly-in fundraiser on Saturday August 12 at the club’s flying field in suburban Otto. Proceeds from the event will support the Macon County School’s Robotics Team. Gates are open at 10 a.m. and from then to 4 p.m. there will be flying demonstrations for RC
airplanes, helicopters, jets and drones. There are also opportunities for visitors to fly aircraft on simulators and actually fly RC aircraft with instructor pilots utilizing dual control RC aircraft. The entry fee is $5 per car and BBQ and hot dog plates, and soft drinks will be available. The rain date for the event is
the next Saturday , August 19. The club flying field is just off Highway US 441 in Otto. Turn onto Tessentee Road just across from the Otto Post Office. The field is a half mile on the left on Tessentte Road. Look for people having fun. For more information call Codger at 828-342-7194.
