Along with the new space is a new energy.

The floor plan is designed to be open and airy with circular flow. Our office includes space dedicated to your video production, a large jewel box conference room seating up to 15, additional small private conference room and a larger kitchen area with bar seating.

The way we work is evolving to mobile phones, I Pads, APP’s and home officing. Our new space reflects this in smaller square footage, fewer private offices, open collaborative community seating, adequate space for trainings and larger meetings plus a kitchen as a social gathering spot.

The build out suffered delays in materials due to supply chain issues and labor shortages as we see through the United States. Additionally our space was occupied by a bank and the property owner removed 2 vaults, constructed a partition between our space and the adjoining tenant plus built out bathrooms in each space. Remov ing vaults required partial removal of concrete floors, total demolition of ceilings, HVAC and lighting.

Even with detailed architectural plans and on site construction supervision the design evolves. When framing began obvious adjustments in kitchen size, storage space, IT room, office sizes and lobby entrance space continues. In the diagram, note a circular flow, tons of glass walls for the large conference room and each private office. Private offices include both an 8’ glass wall facing the hallway and a glass entry door. Many of the private offices also have an exterior glass wall allowing max imum light in the space.

Intentions in the guest entrance area include a warm welcome motif in furnishings, monitor placement for viewing from the elevator vesti bule entrance area and a contemporary laser cut wall.

Selections are complete for carpeting, base board molding, bathroom floor and wall tile and polished concrete hallways. Also determined is laminate selections for kitchen cabinets, desk tops, and conference room tables. To be deter mined are paint colors, chair selection and guest entrance welcoming area furnishings.

In the next few weeks, we begin exterior signage, assessing the final layout and identifying next steps for the transition. Of course, the most common question. WHEN will we be in the new space? I do not have a definite date but anticipate moving either the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023. Once floors are in place, a tour will be organized to view the space.

We are all looking forward to this well located modern space and as progress unfolds, you will be the first to know!

THE EXCITEMENT CONTINUES!

VICE PRESIDENT

SANTA BARBARA & VENTURA COUNTIES

Prior to joining real estate I was a partner in a special effects company where I managed large events like the Olympics, presidential appearances, and other large events. At the age of 24 I started a small Brokerage which I built up to 70 agents. In the mid 90’s I sold my brokerage to Fred Sands. After selling my company I went to manage the #1 CB & Jon Douglas offices in the nation located in Pasadena.

My beautiful family and happy kids would be my most fulfilling accomplishment. In business having the most amazing offices and agents to work for would rank a close second. The fact that our office ranks as high as the biggest cities in the world gives me a daily dose of pride.

I was recruited to open the Pasadena office of Prudential California Properties, which is now the BHHS office in Pasadena. During My time in Pasadena I sold on average of 40-50 properties a year. I was the President of the Pasadena Association of Realtors in 2006. I served on many committees for both CAR and NAR. I received an AA degree in Humanities and a BS in Finance, Real Estate and Law. While studying to go to Law School I got my Brokers license and started a small Brokerage which I later sold to Fred Sands.

What do you consider some of your personal major accomplishments?

Hobbies/Special interests

I was overwhelmed to move to Santa Barbara/Ojai/Ventura to discover that all my hobbies could be fulfilled here. I am a surfer, hiker and amateur geologist/ archaeologist. Among other things

I love to be outdoors and learning new things. History and dumb facts are my geek zone.

To focus on Balance. Life is very short and much will be missed if you do not have a way to balance your days. Family and friends comes first above all else. I am blessed to have that in my life today. My family is about 350 strong these days. I consider myself lucky to call all the agents my family and friends.

Education/Background

I received an AA degree in Humanities and a BS in Finance, Real Estate and Law. While studying to go to Law School (which never happened) I got my Brokers license in 1989. I hold the designations of a CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, GRI, Graduate Realtor Institute, and SFR, Short Sale, Foreclosure Resources

I am married to a lovely woman named Joanna. We have two amazing daughters MacKenzie Lynn age 5, Kendly Alynn age 2.
If you could go back in time and tell your 6-year-old self-important life information what would it be?

THE Charitable Foundation, Backyard BBQ

The smell of barbecue and the sound of 80’s music permeated the summer air surrounding the Surf Rodeo Headquarters on the evening of September 7. The Ventura Chapter of The Charitable Foundation had been planning the Backyard Barbecue since mid-June

In the two months leading up to the event, TCF board members secured the event location, spon sorships, silent auction items, and enough food and drink to satiate at least 50 attendees. The day of the event started at 6AM, when board mem ber Aaron Gaston, and barbecue partners Earle Rothwell and Lee Man ning of Earl’s Gone Wild Barbecue, brought over their grills and smok ers, and started the process of slow-smok ing immense amounts of beef brisket. Fast forward through near ly 10 hours of grilling, cooking, and preparing the event space, and the doors opened to the first guests at 4pm. The event was well-at tended by about 40 people, largely real estate indus try professionals and their families. 80 Reasons to Dance, a cover band hailing from Pasadena, played some of the most recognizable and danceable grooves to come out of the 1980’s. Guests enjoyed plentiful Cali fornia barbecue favorites such as brisket, tri-tip, chick en, vegan chili and a host of delicious side dishes and salads. When patrons had their fill of great food and

conversation, it was time to hit the dance floor. Oth ers passed their time playing yard games like corn hole or giant Jenga. The event also played host to a hotly contested silent auction. The items up for bid included a vast offering, from lovely house plants to a round-trip cruise for two out to Santa Cruz Island; along with many other at tractive gifts donated by local businesses and TCF board members. The Surf Rodeo Headquarters provided the perfect am biance for the Backyard Barbecue, as it played on Ventura’s blue-collar roots with it’s rustic wood-clad aesthetic, antique tractors, and the nostalgia of Phyl lis Diller’s kitchen which was relocated from her Santa Barbara home into the Headquarters. The venue felt as natural a setting as any for this veritable hootenanny. Thank you to all who attended, sponsored, and orchestrated this awesome event. It’s the community that made this all possible. All of the proceeds from this event will be donated back into our local community.

Agent Panel Shares Insight

The September 20 in-person sales meeting highlighted the successes of a three agent panel who built a successful business from new licensee to National Award Winner in 5 years. Panel members Gabriela Cesena, Magda Nordahl, and Elizabeth Jebef shared where their first

included hard work, taking their client’s business seriously, understanding they are business owners not only REALTORS, and drive to deliver the best service any agent can provide.

Each panel member had a differing road to success and there are consistencies in their path. Consistencies

a sound database, and developing a healthy work/ life balance are all future tasks for these agents. Thanks again to Gabriela, Magda, and Elizabeth for sharing their insight and perspective.
