Towards a greener future

ESPITE the overnight rain earlier this week students from St Francis of the Fields Primary School in Strathfieldsaye, were busy planting native grasses and sedges along Sheepwash Creek thanks to a community initiative between the school, Villawood Properties and the Mandurang Strathfieldsaye Landcare Network. As a result of this week’s effort another 700 plants will help revegetate the banks of the creek and add to the 6000 already partially established trees, shrubs and grasses planted along Sheepwash and Emu Creeks since 2015. Also in attendance were the Stathfieldsaye Lions Club and Mandalay Resources who were busy throughout the day on the barbecue. Villawood Properties regional general manager Julian Perez says the event was the perfect encapsulation of the company’s

ROPERTY owners and renters living in regional Victoria should be concerned about the Victorian Government’s proposed Rent Fair legislation, which they’ve announced will be introduced to Parliament during the week beginning August 6.
