LEADERSHIP!

LEADER IN TRAINING (LIT) Ages: 14-17 yrs Cost: $40 Youth will gain a variety of leadership, communication, programming and life skills in a fun and exciting recreation environment. This opportunity allows youth to experience the fun of summer camp while taking on added responsibility to prepare them for a job. The expectation is that all L.I.T.’s will commit to a minimum of 4 weeks to work within the summer camp programs, during this time they can collect volunteer hours. SUMMER BRAIN GAIN – SUPER KIDS Ages: 6-9 yrs (11548) M: $155 NM: $186 Every day campers will take part in numerous activities designed to strengthen their math, reading, and writing skills, along with problem solving and language acquisition. Instructors deliver fun academic and physical activities throughout the camp day within a camp setting. These experiences include field trips, guest artists, and sports and recreation activities.

SAILING CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11551) M: $155 NM: $186 Sailing camp participants will travel to the Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club daily to participate and learn the skills in sailing. Campers will get to learn the basics and improve on their skills throughout the week. Campers will require a proper fitting life jacket.

SWIM & SKATE CAMP Ages: 6-12 yrs (11549) M: $200 NM: $240 Campers will learn new skating skills, practice those skills on the ice and also complete a Red Cross Swimming Lesson throughout the week. Your child will have on ice sessions with Scary Skate instructors. Campers will be on-ice for up to 1 hour per day, and in the pool one hour per day. Full hockey equipment is required including hockey helmets and a neck guard.

DANCE CAMP Ages: 6-12 yrs (11552) M: $155 NM: $186 Work with talented dance instructors including, Jimmy Chapman - NRG Breakdancing, to learn the latest moves in jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip hop. Campers will become a choreographer and performer as you prepare for the recital at the end of the week! All levels of experience are welcome.

BASKETBALL CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11553) M: $185 NM: $222 Spend the week learning from quality instruction by local coaches and athletes. Practice your skills through games and drills including dribbling, passing and shooting. Work on the strategies of the game on indoor and outdoor courts.

PEAK ROCK CLIMBING CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11554) M: $185 NM: $222 Spend the week learning everything from the basics of Rock Climbing within our indoor and outdoor adventure facility where we follow a ‘challenge by choice’ philosophy. Campers will participate in adventure-based programs, activities and initiatives, as well as awesome indoor rock climbing and challenges on our vertical elements. Kids are required to bring indoor shoes.

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11555) M: $155 NM: $186 Be a triple threat on the stage! In this camp you will learn to sing, dance and act. In the morning, you will work with our Musical Theatre staff to develop skills and in the afternoons, you and your fellow campers will work on props, set design and creating the full experience for the audience. This program will end with a performance for friends and family.

SOCCER CAMP Ages: 6-12 yrs (11556) M: $155 NM: $186 Spend some time on the field developing your soccer skills. In this program, Campers will work on the fundamental movements of the game through exciting and fun exercises and develop your game strategy. Campers will learn from local coaches throughout the week to improve on their soccer skills.

KID TECH NATION Ages: 7-12 yrs (11562) M: $155 NM: $186 Exercise your imaginative and artistic skills as you create animations, art, games, and music while they develop computational thinking and coding and communication skills in a fun, beginner-friendly, social, and collaborative environment. At the end of this program, the learners will have a chance to showcase and articulate one of their projects and program takeaways to their peers and community.

LEARN A NEW SKILL! KID FOOD NATION CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11563) M: $155 NM: $186 Ever wanted to know what goes into your favorite dish? Do you love to cook or want to learn how? Kid Food Nation is here for you! This is where you can share your favorite healthy and original recipes, play games, learn fun facts about the foods we eat and so much more. Spend lots of time in the kitchen learning from the best in the business, visiting local restaurants, and learning from local restaurant owners. Most of the week is spent in the kitchen, then balanced out with outdoor play, group games, crafts, and swimming.

BIKING & SWIMMING CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11558) M: $185 NM: $222 What a great opportunity to participate in Red Cross Swimming Lessons and improve your biking skills. Bikes are provided for daily camp use. Campers will learn about bike safety, bike maintenance and bike riding skills daily as well as participating in other camp activities. ROOKIE LEAGUE BASEBALL CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11559) M: $185 NM: $222 Trip to Blue Jays Game at Rogers Centre: August 22 Partnered with the Blue Jays Care Foundation, Rookie League is a program that uses the game of baseball as a foundation to teach children the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and self-esteem. This safe, fun, active and engaging baseball program for children. Children will learn the basics and enjoy instructional and game play.

ART CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11561) M: $155 NM: $186 Art camp provides a unique opportunity to try different types of art in a fun and creative way. Campers will use their imagination and creativity while utilizing paint, fabric, sketching, collaging, photography and crafting skills. Campers will display their art at the week-end Art show.

HOCKEY CAMP Ages: 6-12 yrs (11550) M: $200 NM: $240 Campers will learn new skating skills, practice those skills on and off the ice. Your child will have on ice sessions with Scary Skate instructors. Campers will have the opportunity to practice and improve their hockey skills while enjoying a camp-like atmosphere. Campers will be on-ice for up to 2 hours per day and will participate in other fun activities, including swimming and sports. SWIM FIT CAMP Ages: 7-12 yrs (11560) M: $185 NM: $222 What a great opportunity to participate in Red Cross Swimming Lessons and enjoy some physical activity. OUR STAFF Staff are certified in HIGH FIVE (Principles of Healthy Child Development), CPR/First Aid and Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) for children and go through an intense screening/training process to ensure the highest safety of your child. The training program includes: Behavioural Management, Program Planning, Program Implementation, Supervision, Sun Safety, Emergency Response, Communication, Quality Assurance and more. Staff are supported by Leaders In Training (LIT) (14-17yrs) who are enthusiastic, responsible and are chosen because they relate well with children of all ages.

REGISTRATION Registration or cancellations must be made by noon the day prior to care. Flexiblity within general camps: you choose your camp days. Full payment is required upon registration. Refunds are subject to 15% administration fee. We provide financial assistance to ensure that no child is turned away. Discount available for families with 3 or more children.
