while some construction companies limit projects to either commercial or heavy civil construction work, Ottawa-based Dalcon Enterprises does both, and keeps busy in both winter and summer. With an additional focus on government work, the company has been unaffected by the recession.

After 10 years of owning and operating several familyowned companies, including Frecon Construction, Dale Drevniok, CET, started Dalcon, incorporating in 2004 and growing every year since. At the start of summer 2010, the company already was close to $18 million in revenues, $4 million more than it had secured by the end of the summer of 2009, Coleman says. The nation’s capital is a booming town—Ottawa is always improving its infrastructure, Coleman explains.
