Never mix tires of different construction (radial and bias) on the same vehicle. Rims designed for bias tires can fail because of the extra stress placed on them with radial tires. Interchangeability is not implied nor is it always possible because of rim sizes, wheel well clearance, speed/load ratings and handling characteristics. Vehicles designed for bias ply tires may drive considerably different on radial tires. Extreme caution must be exercised. Please refer to the auto manufacturer’s recommendations when replacing bias ply tires with radials. (*Dimensions are based on non-scientific measurements of inflated tires. These tires are designed for vehicles manufactured prior to 1976. See page 66 for details. Tubeless Tires. It is extremely important these tires are mounted and balanced by trained tire service technicians. These tires are recommended for rims widths from 3.5 - 4 inches, mounting on rims exceeding this width could result in irregular tread wear.
