architecture and urbanism Architectural Project 1 Period: 2011.2 Professor: Joaquim Aristides de Oliveira Team: Arthur da Costa and Beatriz Fontenele The tourism industry has a strong importance in the city. People that come here are very different from each other and come in search of diverse things. That way the main idea of this project was to make a hostel at the beach for tourists with elements that recalled the regionalism of the city and its culture. The big challenge was to deal with the strong wind, sun and sand. There was a hard search for the perfect materials so we could provide thermal comfort. The result was a project especially horizontal, very regional and simple, worried about the whether and comfort.

The proposal of this project was to create a public school in a quarter next to the beach to the community that live there. In opposition to the public schools of the city, witch are mishandled, and considering the European public schools, the goal was to make a low costs school, but with great infrastructure for the community kids. The classrooms were placed on the side that receive the sun of the morning and the most part of the wind. Underneath the classrooms were put the canteen with a high ceiling height for the entrance of the wind on the patio.

architecture and urbanism Beach Park Souvenir Store Period: 2012 Company: Imagic! Architect team: Karine Lima and Bruno Guedes Collaborator: Beatriz Fontenele and Seila Matos Beach Park is the first and largest water park in Latin America. It is also one of the main clients of Imagic! company. It was designed a place so they could sell its souvenirs. The stored needed to be spacious and in the same way should be able to store all the products. Hawaii came as an inspiration, that’s why a lot of different and strong colors were used as well as wood on the details, and other elements that recalled the beaches of Hawaii.
Villa Mayor Themed Hotel Period: 2011-2012 Company: Imagic! Architect team: Marcela Miranda and Vânia Marcelo Collaborator: Beatriz Fontenele Villa Mayor is a hotel that has an architecture language that recalls the Brazil from 1920. The project consists in a reform that adds a new tower to the small hotel that already exists, providing its access to the avenue, as it can be seen on the following image.

visual communication Elements of Three-dimensional Composition Period: 2011.2 Professor: AlĂŠxia Carvalho Brasil Team: Beatriz Fontenele, Beatriz Gama and Isabela Castro The purpose of this task was to create a different fount that followed a pattern that we had also to create. Inspired by the architect Aldo Rossi, we created the following handwriting.

Architect team: Karine Lima Collaborator: Beatriz Fontenele and Seila Matos Imagic! team also thought and developed the furniture of the Beach Park Souvenir Store. The furniture was all made of wood and covered with patina. Vibrant colors were used.

The layout of this room was made during a Sketch Up for interior design class. The proposal was to make a room for a 12 years old girl. It was a 21.50m2 room. In this process we learned and practice all the Sketch Up tools directly for interior spaces.

The layout of this room was made for a 21 years old boy who had just arrived from Europe, where he had lived for the last six months. He wanted something very simple with elements that make him remember his trip. Pictures were put on the wall and a world map to check all the places he had already been. The wood used on the panels and the color of the wall were chosen by the boy.
