Sexy, Talented &Unforgettable By Suzanne Takowsky

IT’S OSCAR TIME. Once a year mere mortals get to feel like “one-of-the-gang” when the biggest night in entertainment rolls around. With millions of eyeballs glued to the tube, a global audience of adoring fans can get close to their favorite stars as these cinema icons walk that oh so famous red carpet. Not only do celebs have to look ageless for flashing cameras broadcasting around the world, but have to gracefully dodge questions about the who, what, and why of their lives by nosey interviewers. From the second Hollywood became a fixation in our lives, as far as the general public is concerned, none have a clue where a celebrity’s professional life ends and his/her personal lives begin. What we see on screen is what we envision a star’s LIFE to be. No wonder we get confused when the action, bad boy muffin we drool over in a movie turns out to be married, off the market and a daddy to a nest of kids at home. Or the sexy, kickass, breathy chick that makes a regular guy’s life somewhat livable turns up—pregnant? Deep down we don’t dwell on the fact that what we see in the movies is not real for an actor. Just because movies are entertaining for us does not translate the same for stars who appear in them. For them movies, are their day job, their profession, their work. And when the

movie is done — they go home to REAL life. Nevertheless, I for one insist on maintaining my favorite stars persona of fabulous on and off the screen whether it’s true or not. I think they deserve to be thought of as fabulous all the time. Because they are. They’ve chosen a profession that although lucrative is demanding and unforgiving with fans who are fickle. For who we adore and think is HOT today... we turn our backs on tomorrow for whoever steps up to take their place. On any given day of the week, any hour of the day, whether we are happy, sad, alone or cuddled in bed, we can turn on TV or go to a movie and for two hours get lost in the months of hard work it took for a star to give us his/her best. We can forget about own lives for two hours while watching performances that have an ability to transport us into the thrilling story of a star’s on-screen alter-life. To successfully accomplish this year after year and film after film for any star makes movie-making little less fantasy and LOTS of hard work. MY THOUGHT: each star deserves an Oscar. Sure some performances might be better than others, but no doubt each actor and actress we see on-screen is giving us the best they have and that is worth an Oscar AND deserving of loyalty and less criticism from the peanut gallery. My staff and I chose a handful of actors who continue to rock the world with their brilliance year after year. Forget a “performance” these guys are so convincing that neither they nor their movies will be forgotten. Michael Madsen. Where is this man and when will we see him again? Chicago-born Michael remains a jaw-dropping, bigger than life actor (Donnie Brasco, Die Another Day, Species, Hell Ride, Sin City and 170 other movies) that not only get our hearts pitter-pattering with his sexy, good looks and can turn on a dime with an in-your-face attitude, but he sends chills up our spine

Cannes, two Coppa Volpis, and on and on go nominations. He has gotten more attention worldwide for his hair (he looked like a total freak with the creepiest-ever haircut in No Country For Old Men) than any guy alive. Ironically, the dude is married to the gorgeous Penelope Cruz, making two breathtaking creatures in the same household (not fair!). Certainly not a woman alive wants to think of Javier as “off the market” but alas married life has taken our boy away, and he is basking in his daddy-duties (the couple have one child and another on the way). The Canary Island-born Javier (the first Spaniard to be nominated for an Oscar) doesn’t seem to be as interested in quantity as quality when it comes to filmmaking. Memorable movies include Before Night Falls, Biutiful, Jamón Jamón, and a leg long list of others that prove over and over how talented this guy is. Sometimes Javier’s roles seem too far and between (he has around 40 films under his belt), but when he takes on a role…it’s a good one, and he owns it. In his recent film, Skyfall, he brought forth another of his brandish calculated sadistic moods to give the audience another peek into what makes him an unforgettable creature of darkness. WHY NOT another Oscar? Javier starred in his first film when he was six years old and comes from a long line family of actors. .

with his cold-blooded, die hard and fast skills as a villain. His sadistic killer role in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dog will remain forever one of the scariest and most brutal movies EVER. Whether you’re 70 or 20—he’s the man. Over a 30 year acting career, he’s taken numerous Best Actor Awards and last year garnered major attention in Justin Bieber's video, As Long As You Love Me (he beat up the Bieb!). A noted author (his books are best sellers) he finished Expecting Rain, Forward by Jerry Hopkins (Jim Morrison and Rolling Stone magazine) and as an accomplished poet, amassed an international following with his first book, Burning In Paradise (Forward by Dennis Hopper) winning the very cool Independent Firecracker Award. Recognized worldwide for his poetry, he was invited to the International Poetry Festivals in Genoa, Italy and Mexico and honored for his Bukowski poetry style. He was Guest of Honor at the 2010 Crossing Border Festival in the Netherlands. The Complete Poetic Works of Michael Madsen Vol. I 1995-2005 (13 Hands Publications) is an international bestseller chronicling a decade of his poetry dating to 2005. Signs of Life (13 Hands Publications) was dedicated to Chris Penn and was his first-ever book of photography. American Badass (Hands Publications) was released in 2009 and he dedicated it to the memory of David Carradine, his friend and Kill Bill co-star. Last year Michael served as President of the first Champs-Elysees Film Festival honoring Harvey Weinstein and recently launched a clothing line called Badass Clothing by Michael Madsen (what a surprise!). Rumor has it that he is set to appear in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. HURRY HURRY we are in Michael Madsen withdrawal. The beautiful Javier Bardem has every award ever made (Oscar, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA, Goya, two European Film Awards, Best Actor at
