Assistant Coach 3rd Season

Assistant coach Robbie Lightfoot begins his 3rd season as an assistant to the Pilots. However, he is no stranger to Bethel basketball. The elder son of head coach Mike Lightfoot, Robbie has grown up around Bethel and the men’s basketball program. Robbie has seen Bethel at its best and at its worst. He was in the stands for all three of Bethel’s NAIA National Championships in the 90’s and was a player on the Pilots’ 10-20 season. “It’s been a fun experience now being on the sidelines as a coach and having the chance to be a part of Bethel basketball in a different way,” states Robbie. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to learn more from such an experienced and veteran coaching staff.” Robbie was the 2007 Martin Moneyheffer Mental Attitude Award winner for the Pilots, after suffering through an injury-plagued senior season while still managing to captain a team to a NCCAA National Championship.
