GA ME PR E V IE W The Pilots travel to Davenport, Iowa for their second long road trip in as many weekends to take part in the Pepsi Challenge hosted by Saint Ambrose University. Game one of the Challenge pits the Pilots against the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene out of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Pilots are looking to build off of the momentum captured from two wins at the Giovanni’s Tip-Off Classic in Rio Grande, Ohio over NAIA DI foes No. 37 Pikeville (Ky.) and host Rio Grande last weekend. Freshmen Kyle Ritz and Ryan Benner came up huge in the win over Pikeville, combining for 33 points in the come-from-behind win. It was the seniors’ turn in the wire-to-wire victory over Rio Grande, as Caleb Laidig and Joe Welch combined for 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Pilots are looking for a 5-0 start for the third straight season, and are 18-0 in the November over that span. The Tigers are also hoping to build off of some early momentum garnered by a 20-point victory over No. 21 Judson on the road on Tuesday night. The two early losses suffered by Olivet Nazarene came at the hands of NAIA DI powerhouses No. 33 Rocky Mountain and No. 12 Westminster in Salt Lake City. The Tigers are led by reigning CCAC Sixth Man of the Year Cory Hainlen. Now a starter, the 6-6 senior is pouring in 22 points per game. Hainlen scored 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting in the win over Judson. Another key contributor is 6-8 senior Nick Klomstad. Klomstad leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game and pulled down 11 against Judson. He also scored 19 points and had 4 steals. PROJECT ED
