Dec 20, 2013 Office Hrs. 9a.m.—2p.m. 918.492.1353 from the December Newsletter... Advent at Bethany is always a blessed time. We gather on the first Sunday to wonder at the symbols of our faith entwined in greenery. We celebrate the stories of our faith and focus them all around a stable with an empty manger. We wait with anticipation for that manger to reveal Love embodied in the form of the Christ child. As we wait, there is so much happening. The preschool is abuzz in preparation for the Christmas program. We had a congregational meeting December 5. All of us are finishing the decorations around our homes or making lists for gifts or to-do’s. As we prepare, I’d love for you to consider praying for the Jeremiah Project, our visioning and strategic planning process for 2014! On December 15 at 2 p.m., we are meeting with the consultant with whom we hope to work. Once that is finalized, we will be ready to move right into January with an all church Bible study. The Jeremiah Project team experienced Bible Study together in light of the hope and trust that God will reveal our next steps as a congregation. We want to offer that opportunity for all of the Bethany community! It is so important to have everyone’s participation that we’ve layered the opportunities for involvement. What does that mean? You’ve got many choices to come together for Bible study and reflection! As we begin to see the vision God has in store for Bethany, we begin with scripture. My prayer for us all is that we will find an opportunity to get closer to one another and closer to God by coming together for these sessions. Starting Wednesday, January 15, there is a 1 week (4 sessions) choice before choir practice at 5:45 p.m. One time opportunities are as follows: Sunday, January 19 after church; Thursday, January 23 at the Krase’s home at 7 p.m.; and Tuesday, January 28 at 7 p.m. with the place to be announced.
