For the last 15 years, our hospital is doing different types of weight loss surgeries like MINI GASTRIC BYPASS (MGB), RNYGASTRIC BYPASS, LAPAROSCOPIC SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY(LSG) & ENDOSCOPIC SLEEVE GASTROPLASTY(ESG).
Predominantly, we do MINI GASTRIC BYPASS since this is reversible & revisable procedure.
HOW WE DO ?
★ All the procedures are done laparoscopically and it takes about 30 minutes to complete the procedure.
★ Four 1 cm incisions are given on the abdominal wall through which instruments are inserted for surgery.
★ The patients are mobile soon and are also allowed liquids few hours after surgery.
★ Hospital stay is 48 hours that is two days only.
★ The weight loss is approximately 4 to 5 kg per month and as the weight starts reaching near to the target weight, the rate of weight loss is slowed down.
HOW WE CHOOSE THE PROCEDURE ?
As there are different types of bariatric surgery procedures, so the choice of procedures depends upon BMI of an individual,Age, Medical History, Dietary History and the Comorbidity conditions.
The patient and the family is counselled in depth about all the procedures and then an appropriate procedure, which is best suited according to the individuals need is finalized.
