MULT COFFEE & NESTING TABLE In nowadays, some habits and traditions can change quickly with changing time. People want to have things more practical and useful. MULT Coffee & Nesting Table makes users’s lifes more practical and easy and accords the new traditions in nowadays.

In the past, people prefer to have some big and flashy furnitures. Sideboards, coffee tables, consoles, nesting tables, television units, etc. were all positioned in living rooms. Every furniture provided only one function. Coffee tables were positioned at the middle of living room. Only some stuffs were put on them. On the other hand, nesting tables helped the servings by being modular. This kind of traditional houses become different with the passing time. Today people want to have furnitures more useful and practical. Less furniture with more functions has been chosen. Getting coffee and nesting table together provides more functions and less space from the living part at the same time. With this design study, nesting table helps users to make the the part of sofas and use easily while they are sitting, so coffee and nesting table are studied and developed at the same time.

"MULT Coffee and Nesting Table" is designed for the brand, Mudo Concept. For this brand some new touches are thought. Firstly, more functions are gathered. Both coffee and nesting table is wanted to serve with only a product. Also, want to use metal and wood together to make the furniture more light. This table is a combination of flashy and modern furniture too with its both coffee and nesting table parts. It symbolizes old and new fashion.

UNY CHILD MODULE Uny Child Module is a sitting unit for children who have trauma in their short lives. The traumas; especially after war, were searched for 4 months, then Uny Child Module is developed based on all the researches and also pyscological theorems.

Uny helps children to have some special time with their own and as well as they spend time with their friends by the dierent sitting positions of this module.

War is defined as "chaos, uncertaincy, meaningless space and being zeroized" for child. Trauma may change any children’s perception for the world. The world might become the place where the child begins feeling deprives, in spite of having comfort and trust before. Thus, that child couldn’t give a meaning for anything at all. Sena Cüre Research Assistant, Department of Psychology, BAU

Life is only a trauma for child. Insecurity situations form the life of child. 1. 2.

insecurity: birth / seperated from mother insecurity: ablactation / second seperation from mother

*if war occurs 3. 4. 5.

insecurity: death of mother, father insecurity: being away from own home insecurity: being away from own neighbour

In this uncertain place, child, be scared be angry feels in insecurity feels desperate Building a reliable space, without being noticed, makes children relieve. Even this table, which locates between our clients and us, also provides relief. Feza Toker Mental Health Speciali

With being zeroized, new life, new roles (mother instead of father), new responsibilities can occur, but child always be child in every situation ! To indicate children that they can be protected is so important that having a place under table makes them feel confident. Thus, children creates a special place for themselves to hide. Ezgi Çebi Research Psychologist

Child controls the games that's why he / she expresses feelings with them. Confidence means self-control for children. Melin Uluç Psychologist

Child only wants to have freedom that is consistent and safe. Belongingness is important for children, so the space which belongs to a child should be steady, even if it is very small. A carpet may also symbolize a particular place for a child, for instance. İrem Yola Psychology Specialist & Teaching Assistant, Işık University

Needs of child: *suppression of feelings: own space * catharsis of feelings: social space Aim: To supply a module that child can create his / her own place in this adaptation time while he / she has complicated feelings.

Choosen Age Range: 5 – 8 5 (turning point for child): - begining of playing games together instead of parallel playing - wants to have his / her own place - starts to do some works by his / herself - starts to care about trust - family is still at the center of his / her life 8: - starts to realize his / herself - takes the life serious) *lenght: minimum: 108 – maximum: 126 centimeters)
