PARISH PLAN UPDATE A consultation with representatives of village groups was held on Tuesday 15th January as part of the process of creating a parish plan. As was explained by Phillip Eden of Cambridgeshire Acre, a parish plan is a questionnaire which is delivered to all residents in a parish; it includes questions on all aspects of the community and can be Photo ŠAdam Keppel-Garner used to further improve the village and its amenities as per the consensus of the village. It is funded by Cambridgeshire Acre and is an initiative which has been used by villages such as Witchford and Christchurch. At the meeting, which had cheese and wine available, a presentation of the first draft of the Parish Plan was given, and those present were invited to comment on the current questions. The draft will shortly be circulated back to the groups with their proposed changes made, and they will then be able to give further comments, and propose their own questions. After these have been received back (by 29th February), the Parish Plan Steering Group will meet and begin working on a final draft. Once a final draft has been formulated it will be delivered to all the parishioners in Benwick and they will be asked to complete it. You will all be kept updated with the status of the Parish Plan, but should you need to contact anyone simply contact either Lyn Keppel-Spoor 1 Lilyholt Road, 677494 linda.keppel-spoor@tiscali.co.uk or Pat Tickner 20 Chapel Gardens, 677279 patricia.tickner@yahoo.co.uk 8
