BENWICK SCOUT GROUP NEWS It has been a period of change for Benwick Scout Group. After five years faithful service Jane Levicki has stood down as Group Secretary due to other commitments. We thank her for her unstinting support over the years and wish her well for the future. Janice Fiore has kindly agreed to take over the duties of Group Secretary. After many years of running the Beaver colony Denise Devall has moved on to become an Assistant Leader with the Explorer section of the Group. Denise’s knowledge and experience will be an invaluable asset to the Explorer section, and will help ensure the Explorers’ activities continue to develop in new and more exciting directions. Lesley Rushbrook has also stood down as Assistant Beaver Leader. We thank her for her time and effort with the Beaver colony both as a leader and as a helper. We welcome Drom Kennington as Beaver Leader, and also Diane and Carl Knight as Assistant Beaver Leaders. Due to other commitments for our new leaders it has been necessary to move the meeting night for Beavers from Monday to Tuesday. Drom, Diane and Carl have worked very hard recently to put together a programme of activities that is both exciting and presents new challenges for the young people attending. The Scout Troop continues to provide a diverse and exciting programme of activities. Future events include dry ski-slope skiing, learning survival skills, photography and a “Gladiator challenge”.
