The Clerk has received notification from CCC that the repairs to the Forty Foot Bank will be completed and the road is expected to be reopened on Friday 1 August at approximately 4.00p.m. Cllr Tickner confirmed that the road has re-opened.

Friends of Benwick Church. John Hoffman is waiting for a letter or copy of a Minute before they can proceed. Cllr Richardson stated he would get in touch with the Parish Council’s Solicitor. Clerk to forward Cllrs Keppel-Spoor and Richardson details.

Police Matters. The Chairperson read a report from PCSO Matt Smart. The report included information regarding the Neighbourhood Panel Meeting ; E-Cops and the Police nonemergency number (0845 456 456 4). The crime figures for July were also reported.

County Councillors Report(s)/Communications Report from Cllr Ogden-unable to attend. Report from Cllr Butcher informed the Councillors that Mat Taylor will be leaving the FDC and a new Liaison Officer will be appointed.

Planning/Development. 60 High Street – Update on Parish Assembly held on 10 July in order that an acceptable solution can be found in respect of access to the above site. Approximately 26 residents attended and the majority were opposed to the current proposals. The Highways Department will revisit their decision. The Contractors were prepared to accept Highways’ decision. Planning would come back to the Parish Council to appeal if necessary. Observations Required: F/YR08/0599/F Lavenham Fen Farms Ltd – erection of a single-storey extension to rear of existing dwelling at Keyworth House Farm Chase Rd Benwick-AGREED no objections. F/YR08/0634/F R Patchett & S Ball – erection of a 4-bed detached house on land west of 28 Doddington Road Benwick-AGREED no objection but would prefer that the front of the property did not have a 6’ high fence.
