Dear Friends and Family, As most of you know, I have been attending Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, for the last two years. Just recently, I graduated from BBC completing my degree with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Missions. I am excited to see what God has in store for my life, and it is at this point that I would like to share some very exciting news with you! As a mission’s major, it has always been a driving desire in my life to serve the Lord in overseas missions. I have felt led to missions ever since I was eight, and now I have the opportunity! God has provided me with the opportunity to go to Ghana, Africa, for 6 months, serving with ABWE (Association of Baptist for World Evangelism) and helping the missionaries there (Zimmerman’s, Matthews’, Junge’s, Totman’s). I was not planning on leaving until September but as it worked out, I will be leaving in the 3rd week of July and returning in the 3rd week of January, 2009. Some of the things that I will be doing in Ghana: - Planning/coming up with object lessons for Vacation Bible School - Planning 2 soccer camps that we will teach in the villages and then have villages play each other in tournaments. (This is a newer project, but the purpose is evangelistic and we are excited to see what God is going to do) - Prepare a series of lessons on truth and teach it in the schools - Working with Awana - Manual labour in the villages - Bible studies I understand that I will be leaving very soon, but there are some things that I must do before I can go to Africa. First, my financial requirement is that I need to raise about $10,000 for the 6 months that I will be in Ghana. Secondly, I would also like to raise a group of 50 individuals who will pray for me every day. I sincerely believe that the power of prayer is unmatchable when it comes to both the ministry and the spiritual battle that I will be engaging in. Please pray as to whether or not you might be involved in my ministry, either prayerfully or financially. If you have any questions or would like to contact me about support, please feel free, my e-mail is benjamintward@gmail.com. I am also currently keeping a website updated that I am planning on putting updates, pictures, prayer requests, and maybe even some videos, so please check that out! The site is www.BenInGhana.wordpress.com. Thank you, and Lord bless! Born to be a bondservant, Benjamin Ward
