BENEFITS OF TURMERIC A 2013 study suggests that curcumin, Turmeric’s active component, decreases the level of glucose in the blood, aids in digestion, and is linked to diabetes prevention. Another research shared the same results and reported that turmeric helps in managing diabetes and its complications. Complications related to diabetes include nerve damage, diabetic cataracts, kidney disease, and even cognitive problems. Studies show that taking turmeric over a long period of time reduces the risk of suffering from these complications.
